    Isn't "non-denominational" a denomination?

Non-denominational basically means out on its own, with no means of outside support, encouragement, and accountability. We believe in one thing, "The Bible" and salvation through Jesus Christ. Billy Graham is non-denominational.

    What Version do they use?

I'm just curious to see what Bible version many of the more famous Christians out there use. I don't want to start a version war ^_^ I'm just curious to see what some of them out there use. Here are a few that I have seen. Chuck Missler - KJV (King James) Chuck Smith - KJV and NKJV Hal...

Phone Books and Other Obsolete Things

I don't use a phonebook anymore but they have come in handy when my phone is dead and I use a pay phone to make a call or get an address. I hope newspapers stick around. I like to pick up a newspaper and flip through it. There is something about it. I like the tactile feel of a nice paper in...

Where was Jesus while He was dead for three days?

You're touching on a subject that isn't discussed much but we do know the answers. Some commonly refer to it as, "The Second Day". On the second day, Christ descended into hell. Peter, in his first sermon, mentions the suffering of Christ’ soul in hell: Because thou wilt not leave my...

Is there going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture for true believers?

Matthew 7 1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

The Greatest Liberal Of All Time

Not all but you've just demonstrated your frustration. ^_^ Good Times! Yes the terms can be applied in aspects of human nature but not politically. The whole idea is really a non sequitur.

The Greatest Liberal Of All Time

This thread is getting on my nerves. Why does everyone want to say, Jesus was a Communist or Jesus was a Conservative or Jesus was this or Jesus was that. Who would Jesus vote for? Jesus isn't a political party - - He's Christ. If Christ returned and had a press conference and a reporter...

    Isaiah 7:14 Confusion

Tony, I think it's just that the framework of the question is ill-conceived and nobody wants to get into a debate about semantics. You can say that about anything. Why doesn't it talk about the trinity in the bible? Why is it never mentioned? Why doesn't it speak about Jesus' younger years...

Is there going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture for true believers?

It's like I said earlier. We all have an opinions on pre-trib or post-trib raptures. Both sides can make a convincing argument. You may or may not get raptured. I can't believe those who actually dare to say, you won't if you don't believe one version or the other. Why would a belief in pre-trib...

Is there going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture for true believers?

I'm quite familar with the tribe account and various theories and arguments to that end. I was halfway joking which is why I stated, "of say 144,000". It was just analogous to the argument. You can't argue that it wouldn't be a big selling feature either. ^_^ The truth is that this all...

The Greatest Liberal Of All Time

I was actually speaking in jest but to address the comment. I'd say the social aspects that were practiced by Christ were wonderful and to be an example for mankind. As humans we generally do a poor job of putting socialism into practice.

Is there going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture for true believers?

This sudden vanishing of say 144,000 messianic jews would be a big selling feature for me. :)

    Isaiah 7:14 Confusion

Oh now this is interesting. In the Greek Septuagint from 200 BC. For almah in Isaiah 7:14, the Jewish translators used the specific Greek word for virgin (par-thay-nos). This was translated by the Sages who were extremely careful some 200 years before Christ. Therefore, before any...

Is there going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture for true believers?

Actually it does appear in the bible but prior to the 1611 King James translation. The word "rapture" comes from the Latin rapere used by the Latin Vulgate to translate the Greek word harpazo in this verse, which is rendered by the phrase "caught up" in most english translations. It comes from a...
