    Death Penalty & Capital Punishment

Spreading the Word of God, I suppose. Seriously, laws and punishment can't stop crime from happening.

    Do you own a gun

I guess I should have elaborated a bit. Here's the key point: we don't live in a perfect society! I am still curious though. In a perfect world, what WOULD be the point of guns? What is the specific purpose of this tool exactly?

    Didn't know it was possible

I'd LOVE to be in her gene pool. Evil-doers wouldn't stand a chance against me if I had horns!

    Do you own a gun

In a perfect society, guns wouldn't exist.

    Death Penalty & Capital Punishment

Stuff like this is actually really confusing (as usual) to me. How can we, as a nation, ask God for help? Why would He choose OUR side? Aren't we ALL God's children, all nations?

What kind of Baptist are you?

    Rock Music

Yeah, I've been watching the movie with my family since I can't even remember. A lot of this stuff just swept by me probably since I'm just so used to it. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I'm just surprised I hadn't noticed all that. This may be related to the fact that I haven't seen...

    ? For the KJVO crowd

I think this would be a good place ask, what does KJVO stand for? Yeah, the KJV part is obvious so what does the O stand for?

Well, of course Judas's parts are blasphemous. He betrayed Christ. I don't think that makes the movie itself blasphemous. But I guess Jesus's Gethsemane lines are little suspicious. That Tim Rice quote kind of gives it away too . . ... . .

666 was a mistranslation, Oxford says

This may just be me, but Bible Numerology stuff kind of scares me. It kind of seems like superstition or something. Ideas such as this go over my head: I guess I'm confused because it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that we should be afraid of microchips. Oh, and I'm sure a good computer...

Where in the movie is God blasphemed? Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the movie when I saw it!

    alcohol

I don't necessarily think it should be illegal either, but I don't see how this is a valid argument.

I could see how this interpretation could be made. But I think the movie left the whole issue vague and purposely left it up to interpretation of the viewer to decide if Jesus was man or God. Like you said, this opened up the story of Jesus to a wider audience, which could only be a good...

    alcohol

I guess I'm trying to say that maybe alcohol should be illegal too. Legalities aside, I think it's pretty clear that the law is not consistent with the Bible's Laws. In the perspective of the Bible, wouldn't alcohol be considered the same as any other mind-altering drug?

^ I like the way you think. Oh and by the way, if you hadn't noticed, my avatar is from the rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar. That's one way rock music can be used in a good way!

    alcohol

Not too sure on this subject, since I'm pretty young, too young to drink in fact.:P With what I've seen from this thread, it seems like it could go either way by quoting Bible verses out of context? Yeah, I have to read more Scripture to make up my mind on this. But here' something...

    An Alarming Trend

But many other people use the word "gay" as a derogatory term too. Honestly, if I'm justifying anything, it feels like I'm trying to justify the fact that homosexuality is wrong. Using my own judgment, which I admit is flawed, I just can't see how homosexuality is a sin. But I know the Bible...

    Rock Music

Does CCM stand for Christian Contemporary Music? I'm guessing that's the same thing as what my school calls Christian Rock. And yes, my school thinks it's bad too because the loud drums and rhythms make you want to gyrate your hips.:sorry:
