  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Discussion of the Wturri / Macarius Romans Thread

It's not about the view of OT. It's about hebrew and greek languages (Prov. 17:15).

Discussion of the Wturri / Macarius Romans Thread

Lukaris, where does it show that? And how does this relate to the forensic nature of justification (Rom. 8:33,34)?? wturri, thanks for the critique. Im trying to improve my argumentation. Im just tired of putting a lot of effort to a reply and then being stigmatized as a foolish westerner and...

Discussion of the Wturri / Macarius Romans Thread

The context of Romans 12:6 isn't justification. Justification is placed nureous times opposite to condemnation in the Bible, for example here: Room.8: 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea...

Discussion of the Wturri / Macarius Romans Thread

Nope it's not. You don't pay enough attention to the OT backround. Doesen't matter wheteher it's the masoretic text or LXX.

Why are so many Protestants typically attracted more to the Orthodox Church?

I think the main reason is that the Roman catholic church has such a bad reputation among the protestants.

Discussion of the Wturri / Macarius Romans Thread

I think one of the issues with EO is that they pay too much attention to the greek words roots and ignore all the hebraisms and the semitic backround of the NT.

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

The question is settled when we follow God's commands. Nope, because the Bible says "one baptism" and that doesen't mean "one kind of".

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

Using the trinitarian formula, is a christian baptism and so it is baptism in the name of Christ. We have God's command to use trinitarian formula, so there's problem here.

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

We see this issue differently: if the Bible is the Word of God and the light that is guiding us on our way to heaven then there's nothing foolish our proud claiming that I can read the clearest and the most simple book of earth. What do you mean by this: "one can only begin to understand it...

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

There's a lot to comment and I know that the topic isn't Lord's Supper, but still I must comment this one: I do not admit what you're saying and the grammar most definetly decides the matter. It's easy to see the vagueness of the reformed position as they don't have THE ONE CORRECT view on...

    The Definition of Justification

Can you give me some verses to prove your point? Romans 4:5

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

Nope. I can prove their self-contradicting premises in another way. I already answered the question of subordination and the phrase: "My Father is greater than I". The Biblical doctrine that it proclaims.

    The Definition of Justification

It's about human court, but it reveals us that "justification" is a forensic term. Not sure where are you referring to

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

They deny the biblical passages that teach the sinfulness of infants (John. 3:6) and that's why its natural that they don't baptize babies. They deny the simple words of Scripture: this IS my body. Can't find the term, but we can find the teaching that nicene creed teaches. It's at the age of 15...

The verse also tells us what is justification. Nothing to do with energies, but with court.

Merits are good deeds that God rewards. But Im really intrested in your interpretation of the Prov. 17:15!

Arguments against Sola Scriptura that should't be used.

Yes, I disagree with them and it really does deny the inspiration of the NT if we say that it is not God-breathed. It's a different term. When it refers to the OT and to the OT canon it says "graphai", but in 2. Tim. 3:16 it uses the singular: graphe. So are the writing of the church...

    Baptism

We see the circumcision as an Old covenant sacrament, because it's the event were the child was made a heir of the promises of the covenant. It may seem to be a problem that there isn't a similiar sign for the girls, but we must follow the Bible on this and not our own reasoning Gen. 17: 10...
