    Email a priest

I have had some great success getting my questions answered by a priest here (a member here in OBOB referred me to this site, though I can't remember whom). Ask an Apologist - Catholic Answers Forums

Padre Pio on Women's Dress and a touch on Men's

Wow, what a thread. I am a little confused on where it was said that you get to heaven by the way you dress? That was not what I came away with at all.

Why do you believe in God?

I can't explain how or why I believe in God; all I know is that the imprint He placed on my soul will not let me do otherwise.

The 5 Stages of Daylight Saving Time

I know, as far as I am concerned, they can just stop doing daylight savings. Doesn't save me anything. LOL

The 5 Stages of Daylight Saving Time

Daylight savings time always screws me up. Every year I am early then late when it is changed again. I happen to be one of those people who forget to turn their clocks.

Baby Joseph Rescued and In USA !!

I am so glad he was brought to the US. Weather he lives or not is up to God. All who were involved did what was right in protecting his life, and taking on the great challenge to bring him here. There were so many people involved is was heart warming. Prayers were answered. If he passes on, he...

Pope urges priests to preach on uncomfortable topics

Don't you think that maybe what has happened over the years is that the priests have been so burdened with having less and less help in the parishes, with an increasing responsibility, that they fell into "picking their battles" just out of necessity? If we can't get more priests to be...

If you’re married and you’re on Facebook, read this

Nope not everything. Didn't say I believed that either. Just made the comment that I read it. ;) Couldn't agree more. Exactly. I remember hearing about it, and thought it was was pretty disgusting. Have not heard of the sugar daddy sights yet. I would gather to think that those are the people...

If you’re married and you’re on Facebook, read this

I have read in an article a while back, that cheating is a character trait. In other wards once a cheater, always a cheater. FB and other internet avenues makes it that much easier for spouses, fiancés, or people committed, to sneak around. But eventually they always get caught. I think it is...

The Staggering costs of inappropriate content Addiction

I am not so shocked by these statistics. It is evident that society has a problem, all we have to do is walk out our front door and look around. The way people dress, billboards, window displays in department stores, etc... No wonder why people have such a sex addiction problem, you can't get...

What are you doing for Lent?

I am going to do my best to say the rosary daily. I can't think of anything I could give up that would be that difficult and meaningful.

Can a priest simply refuse to hear a confession?

I try not to take it for granted either. It is hard though, walking that narrow path. I don't think I am quite in the same spot that some of you are in your spiritual walk. I am only re-discovering my faith. There is a lot I have been doing wrong, and had no idea it was considered a mortal...

Can a priest simply refuse to hear a confession?

The first time I stopped going to Church was due to "Confessions gone bad." It took me a long time to go back. That was years ago, but I still remember how traumatizing it was. I did not know that a priest could tell someone they could not hear their confession.

    St. Valentine Plans??

Ok JoabAnias, I understand where you are coming from now. I have read a few other posts you have made on others threads. No explanation needed.

    St. Valentine Plans??

Of course love is wanting what is best for someone else. When you love someone unconditionally, you usually just by nature are sacrificing and doing what is best for that other person. I see nothing undignified about loving someone or knowing you are called to a partnership, just like God...

    St. Valentine Plans??

Excuse me, but I dont understand how knowing you have a vocation to be married would be of ones flesh? God created Adam, and saw he needed a suitable mate, so He then created Eve. To me it is quite a natural God given feeling, for one to be drawn toward companionship with the opposite sex.

    Yoga and Tai Chi

Oh my, you all really have gone to town here. It was just a question I had, I see you all really like debating here, and against each other??? Another question, are you all Catholic? And it is not meant to be an argument, I really am curious. It helps me in knowing where other Catholics stand...

    Yoga and Tai Chi

Question. What is the big deal about a Catholic practicing yoga or Thai Chi as long as one is using it purely for therapeutic stretching, flexibility exercise, and not engaging in the meditative cultural practices.

    Church and confession

Confession...Something I always have a hard time with for some reason. It appears that many of you are very comfortable with it and go pretty regular.
