Im not sure there is a deffinate right way or wrong way. I think on some levels its up to the individual. Although, its always good to get input of the fasting of others because you may want to apply some of what they are doing.

sounds like you were unconfortable in the fist place doing what you were doing. so could it have been a self fulfilling prophecy. ie. you were doing something you knew you should not have, so you started making mistakes in order for it not to go through.
