Multiple States wanting Creationist/Intelligent Design Material in Schools

Sorry but this just kinda stuck in my head when I read it earlier and can't quite shake it. Are you seriously saying that evolution is such a dead on lock for truth that arguing against it should bring about punishment? I thought that whole science thing encouraged the challenging of established...

Should women be covered up more?

If you say no attack was inferred I'll take your word for it. Sure looked that way to me though. I'll kinda sideline myself and watch the discussion progress for the most part. I'm going through what looks to be a long and ugly divorce at the moment due in large part to situations related to...

Should women be covered up more?

Sorry to be the one who points this out to you but your graph there takes it's highest spike closer to 1980.Disco was already dead brother. Now if you want to blame it on the horrors of music that came about in the early 80's, I'd have a real hard time fighting you on that one.

Should women be covered up more?

Well, um, actually if we hit the way back button and look at the beginning of the thread your post asks should "other than Muslims" be covering up more. So actually it should be no surprise that the thread has posts not dealing with Islam at all. That is, after all, what you asked. But then...

    Is Christianity a dying institution?

I can do one better. I've not only been in the US my entire life but born and raised in the land of the Southern Baptists', educated at a "Christian" college, and the author's findings seem pretty right on to me. *shrug* Neither one of us with our localized experiences can really do much as far...

Should women be covered up more?

Actually that was Paul, not Jesus, but hey long time,no see Philothei. Probably don't even remember who I am since I've been gone just shy of forever now.

A refutation of some Muslim claims

Is this a joke? Muslims/Jews/Everyone else: Umm dude, your Messiah was supposed to be a warrior. Christians: Crap. Quick, write up another book. Jesus will handle that one on the next run through!

    Fixed that for ya.

    Hadith: Discussion

Yes I do. But since this is in the Quran, it is a bit redundant. Now we will need times of prayer, number of raka'ats, when to stand (and what to say), when to bow (and what to say), when to prostrate (and how many times as well as what to say), etc, etc, etc.

    Hadith: Discussion

I think I have found a few hadiths that might be worth following :)

    Hadith: Discussion

I meant to comment on this previously, but did not for some reason. This kind of comment right here illustrates one of my major issues with hadith. Muhammad was an upright and righteous prophet. Unfortunately, most of the world thinks he was a schitzophrenic, war mongering, pedophile, camel...

    Hadith: Discussion

The Quran does not anywhere say we are to mingle Muhammad or any other prophet in with our salaat which is for Allah alone. I asked several times already, for one of you guys to please show me the hadeeth that fully detail the salaat as it exists today. No one has done this yet. If you are going...

    Hadith: Discussion

Utter foolishness and borderline blasphemy. No, Allah never said to enjoin worship of any man, even a prophet, in worship meant for Allah alone. If that is what he willed he could've skipped Islam and left the world to the Christians, as they were already doing that nonsense. The whole premise...

    Hadith: Discussion

 Thank you for pointing that one out. I'd also like to add that the 2.5% being pushed by hadithists is as much a hindrance as it is a baseline. Many can and should be giving more than that. Also, the standard practice of paying the Zakat at a Masjid, in nearly all cases, ends up with...

    Hadith: Discussion

I do not believe that most of these hadiths are genuinely a) from the companions of the prophet or b) actually things the prophet did or said. The Quran never, ever, not once, mentions any hadith that we should follow besides itself. The Quran says we should obey Allah and obey the messenger...

    Hadith: Discussion

Your entire notion of a salaat being valid or invalid comes from hadith, not the Quran, and ultimately not from Allah but from men. The same men who thought it necessary to write all kinds of erroneous stories about how the prophet goes to the bathroom and push this off as a necessary part of...

    Hadith: Discussion

This is priceless my friend. The whole point of the revelation of the Quran is about not putting associates and partners with Allah. You really have the nerve to call my salaat invalid because I refuse to worship a man based on some ramblings that came several hundred years later?

    Put down the pork chop?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not persecuting Christianity on this issue. The point is, I left Christianity because of issues like this. Nowhere does Jesus (whom Christians assume to be God) say the Law was done away with. Also, it's apparent in Acts that many years post-Jesus Christians were being...

    Hadith: Discussion

Pardon me for sliding in here. I'm more than positive humblemuslim can handle your weak and oft-repeated arguments, but for my own edification, would you mind posting the hadith that details how we should pray? *For the onlooker* The above is mostly rhetorical. Salaat is not detailed in the...

    Put down the pork chop?

I ran across a post on another forum with a link to a blog which had posted John of Damascus' treatise on Islam, and found something rather interesting. Here is the link biblicalia » Blog Archive » St John of Damascus on Islam Now, aside from J of D's massive arrogance and woeful...
