    changing rites, jurisdictions, etc?

Laypeople are just "Orthodox" and don't belong on paper to any particular rite or jurisdiction like in the Catholic Church. If you want to go to a church of another rite or jurisdiction you can just go, there is nothing to change.

Old time TAW members (my thanks to you all!)

It's funny, I joined in 2006 and used to post here all the time but I haven't been on this site in years. I randomly got the idea to check TAW today and I saw this thread. I also just had my 10-year chrismation anniversary (St. John of the Ladder, 2008).

    Attending classes at Orthodox Parish

There is no obligation to convert at the end. That being said, if you get far along in the classes and still have doubts I think it would be polite to tell the priest your feelings so he isn't caught off guard if you appear to be ready and then suddenly decide not to convert at the end of the...

I'm catholic, but far from certain...

If you convert you will just be Orthodox, not Greek Orthodox or Russian Orthodox, and you can attend and receive communion at any Orthodox church in the world. So don't feel like you have to pick one parish and never go to the other parish again.

    OC vs RCC

I think this is the video you're thinking of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh_nqtp3VrU This was done by the group "Call to Action," a heretical ultra-liberal splinter of the RCC which being a member of will get you excommunicated in at least one RCC diocese. They are decidedly not part...

    OC vs RCC

I may be picking at semantics here, but by "vernacular" do you mean in the local language or just the "new" post-Vatican II Novus Ordo Mass? If the latter then I wholeheartedly agree, but if the former then I have to disagree as I've seen some reverent Masses in English (they're very rare but...

    Unity in America

They did (and still do) if you consider the entire Catholic communion, i.e., the Eastern and Oriental Catholics in addition to the Romans.

Prayer request: I may be looking East

I guess it depends on whether you mean right now, or in a theoretically "united" Catholic/Orthodox church.

Does AFR still do the Hours?

Thanks! Too bad they don't still broadcast them though.

Does AFR still do the Hours?

Years ago on Ancient Faith Radio, at certain set times throughout the day (6 AM, 9 PM, etc.), they would play a recording of whatever Hours service was appropriate for that time. I just started listening to AFR again after a few years and haven't heard it recently, do they still do that?
