    Observation Falsifies Gravitation

Since you kept (sarcastically, I'm assuming) telling us to publish our own article, I just wanted you to know that's not unreasonable if this were an actual problem. And that I'm quite familiar with the publication requirements and science requirements of this journal. No, your claim that...

    Observation Falsifies Gravitation

OK, I haven't posted here in years, but I felt the need to post here. I'll state from the beginning that I have both published in the Astrophysical Journal and served as a referee for them for the last few years. Your claim that 'no known physics including gravitation' can explain that is...

A scientific revolution on the way

Actually, the electric universe (also known as plasma cosmology) is a very old idea - it's been around since the 60's, and it's pretty much been discounted since then as well. While it was an interesting idea, it can't explain the observations of the cosmic microwave background and has been...

    GREs

The physics GRE kept me out of the top grad schools, even though my GPA was great and I had several REUs, conference presentations, and publications before applying. Dimensional analysis doesn't help much any more; it did with the practice tests but I guess they caught on - no more than 2...

    What consensus..........?

Greatcloud, are you ever going to stop cutting and pasting from some random website and actually discuss the issues addressed? Because if you're not, there's really no point in responding to you at all. You haven't shown that you understand the issues here, or that you've read any of these...

What happened to all the sunspots and what does it mean ?

Thanks for posting the article - I used to work with the solar group at MSU. I'd say it's a bit early to be getting worried about the cycle, which isn't supposed to peak for another 4 years, and often ramps up late. But it's still interesting. Global warming is a bit of a misnomer; global...

Quantum Mechanics and the Incompetence of Atheism.

So, your argument against indeterminacy is ... imaginary cruelty to animals? Have fun getting that PhD in physics. I can honestly say the last 9 years haven't been all that much fun, but hopefully I've only got about 2 left. But hey, it's easy, right?

Quantum Mechanics and the Incompetence of Atheism.

I see you didn't get as far as the 'S' in your 'Quantum Physics for Dummies' book. Schroedingers Thought Experiment clearly showed that nothing is ever certain UNTIL it is observed. The act of observation collapses the wavefunction and forces the particle to pick a state.

Why doesn't God heal Amput-... Oh wait.

I remembered seeing this last year on one of my favorite blogs, Respectful Insolence. Here's the analysis of a surgical oncologist on this 'miracle'. http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2007/10/jesus_is_growing_her_a_new_leg.php In short, he doesn't see any evidence of new growth.

Univesity of California - Can now deny those who reject Evolution

I was glad to see the UC system winning this case. But I feel the need to point out a few things. Every college has requirements for admission, and those usually include at least 2, if not 3 or 4, years of a lab science. The Christian school in this case was teaching out of the Bob Jones...

    Crosses on Lisence Plate

You need to be a member of the Secular Humanist organization and present your membership number in order to get the plate. I'm not sure if this is standard for say, getting a boy scouts plate or something. But it reflects a particular organization instead of the general population.

    Crosses on Lisence Plate

As a resident of South Carolina who recently spent several long days at the DMV, I thought I'd chime in (a bit late). We currently have two 'free' license plates (ones you don't have to pay extra for) - the palmetto tree is one, and the other has the US and SC flags and says 'In God We Trust'...

    Hello fellow scientists

I'm finishing a PhD in physics, concentration in high energy astrophysics, particularly gama ray bursts. I haven't posted much lately, but I check in once a day or so - you guys have it covered. :)

    Ajax777's Thread for published papers

You guys got me interested. And I will agree that when I saw the word 'published', I immediately took that to mean 'peer-reviewed journal publication' - that's what scientists mean by published. http://tinyurl.com/3o6ogv 199 abstracts. Of course, many of them actually say Gott and not God...

My dad is a creationist...or something.

Well, makes more sense than god, anyway - there's a good chance aliens exist. Remind him that at some point, if you go back far enough, you either have to say the original aliens were created or evolved. It's not aliens all the way down. :)

An invitation to ondaball: pick a topic

Seriously, this is like arguing with a 6-year old. All he can do is parrot things he's heard and make fun of people. He obviously doesn't understand his own arguments or anyone else's. Isn't there an age limit for these forums? Wouldn't we all feel pretty silly if it turned out we've been...

Seems things aren't going all that well on Expelled's MySpace page. Chuckle, Chuckle

I think my computer deletes cookies overnight, because it let me vote again this morning. That makes three votes from me, I'm somewhat ashamed to say - but the 'yes' voters could easily be doing the same thing (although I guess they're not - 'yes' is down to 0.2%, whereas 'no' is currently at...

    Poll for the scientists

I certainly would (although a physicist is less likely to end up accidentally disproving evolution ...). I wouldn't worry about being made fun of or 'expelled' - because if I could publish it, then there would be evidence to back it up, and they'd have to listen to me and evaluate my arguments...

Big Bang? Nah! Just A Damp Squib!!

So ... you're NOT going to address any of the points? So you admit you can't, and you just pasted them without thinking about them? OK then.

Big Bang? Nah! Just A Damp Squib!!

Yep, it is. Because that doesn't resemble actual big bang theory at all. But I'm sure you've been told that many times already - I'm guessing it's much easier for you to fight a straw man than the actual thing. Doesn't say much for your side of the argument. Care to explain all the...
