    After hooking up DVD-RW, both drives aren't showing up

    I just hooked up my new DVD-RW and when I booted my computer back up neither my DVD or DVD-RW drives showed up in My Computer or Device Manager. Any idea why that is? Both drives are flashing. I'm currently running Windows ME if that is any help.

    I have to get a new motherboard but not a new CPU. I had a Asus A7M266 with a 1.4 GHZ Athlon CPU. The bus speed on the motherboard with 266 mhz. What if I purchase a motherboard with a higher bus speed than my CPU can handle? Can I lower it to 266?
