  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Chris Rea

I heard a couple of days ago that Christ Rea had passed away. I was surprised as he was still relatively young. I was into his music from around the 90s with his hit in Australia "lets Dance'. But also before that "Fool if you think its over' and 'On the Beach'. He was one of a kind. I loved...

    Bob Dylan

I know everyone knows the classic Dylan songs like 'Knocking on Heavens door', 'Hurricane' and 'Blowin in the wind' and all that. But I have been getting back into his earlier and less commercial stuff. Also his live stuff where he improvises. Heres a few that I think show a different side to...

    Ren

I accidently stumbled upon this guy called Ren. I spotted a street performance and thought this guy has got something. I like alternative music, and music as an expression of art or self and the world. Sometimes you get sick of the same old algorithms played all the time and you need something...

    Street Preaching

I have been thinking about the current political claimte and how people are being cancelled and even killed for their views. Is street preaching or declaring the gospel in public now a dangerous occupation.

21 Volcanoes Awakening: Alaska to California Chain Reaction Explained

I only stumbled across this by accident. This sounds pretty ominious. It seems some ancient volcanoes are awakening. Not just one but a chain of them from Alaska to California. Some of them ancient monsters that have been dormant for almost a million years. Some engulfed in ice and potentially...

    The Pharisees are winning

The thought occured to me with all the moral outrage and Culture wars over peoples behaviour and even what they believe and think as being wrong. How its all focused on virtual signalling, being asociated with the right side of history. Identity politics which divides people into groups that...

Trump opens the door for sanctions on Nigeria over persecution of Christians

I don't know how to feel about this. It is good that finally a leader has the guts to stand up to these evil radicals. It is good that other cases of inhumane treatment is being highlighted. It seems strange that it has taken so long for someone to highlight this in the worlds eyes. With all the...

This is how it is for me.

The first expression I guess you can call it that is becoming more clear to me the more I trust God and centering Christ in my life. Is that I am so so gratful. You don't believe how grateful I am that God not only saved me which in itself is amazing and a testiment to how God knows us so well...

    Great guitarists

There has been ongoing debate about who is the best guitarist with the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan ect. Who do you think is the greatest guitarist. I think all the above are great each in their own way. But I am also interested in other...

    Music recording and sound engineering

As the title suggests I am interested in recording music and all the editing ect that goes with it. To be able to reproduce the best sound possible from recording setups. Especially for voice and guitar. Not necessarily effects that enhance the music but capturing the most genuine sound of the...

    Live jam

I was wondering if there was a way where muso's can jam live over the internet. Like Zoom and other conferencing Apps. Not sure if there are newer versions especially for music as I know apps like Zoom can lag. But it would be great if this was the case and we could setup something along...

    The upper room

I have been thinking about how the early church began in upper rooms and in secret places around the city. What that would have been like. The realness of it in the aftermath of Christs crucifixtion and resurrection. I think it was simple and a re enactment of the Upper Room. Do this in memory...

There’s a Giant Flaw in Human History

The short video speaks for itself. Is this possible. If so what are the implications for the mainstream view of human evolution and history. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi4gFfjzKck&ab_channel=MichaelButton

The importance of the apsotle Paul to the early church

At present I am in a thread about the early church and happen to be researching on how the early church transitioned from the Jewish Temple and synagouges to the Christ church we know in some part today. It dawned on me how vital Paul was in this transition to the Gentiles and how this related...

    Luke 12:51-53

Luke 12:51-53 Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter...

    Drive Thru History

I cam across this great site on Christian history. The good thing about it is they actually go to many places off the main tourist track to where the biblical events happened. Which brings the bible alive. The particular episodes I watched was called Acts to Revelations. Which goes through the...

Wow I think archeologists have just confirmed the burial place of Jesus.

Archeologists have just confirmed the burial place of Jesus according to the gospel of John. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre has always been venerated as the place of Christs crucifixtion and burial. But there was debate over the site. Others had claimed Christs tomb was in the garden tomb...

Born again morality as opposed to the worlds morality.

I have been thinking about this comparison as I have transformed under Christ. God says He is the potter and we are the clay. As born again Christians we have a new nature and sin cannot live in us anymore. We are constantly being rebuked and handing over to God our sinful desires and own will...

    The Mens Liberation Movement.

Are we seeing the rise of a mens movement similar to the Womens Liberation movement of the 1970s with the rise of males and especially young men who supported Trump. I say this because part of the rise of support for Trump came from the backlash that has been brewing with Woke and Trans...

    Lead us not into temptation

I was thinking Jesus was a master psychologist. Not just a psychologist but a master at knowing the human heart and the power of sin. I have been thinking about the words deeply in the Lord Prayer and I think they all have important meaning. But the part "lead us not into temptation" I think is...
