  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    What's on your mind?

On my worst days I want to blame a lot on my parents. The truth is they'd defend you even if you were 100% guilty. It wouldn't matter to them.

Is there more Good or Evil in the World?

I wouldn't use the word 'evil' but I think there's a lot of rebellion against God & how he wants us to be. I think there is far more that then 'good' or 'evil.' I think a lot of things motivating us for good are often not the motives we should have, for another thing.

What Generation is Jesus referring to?

'This generation' refers to the generation that sees those things. Notice how verse 14 says it will be preached to the whole world. The events described verse 15 to the verse in question wouldn't be able to happen until it's preached to the whole world. Other interpretations don't make sense...

How much time per week do you think is enough to dedicating to study the Bible?

There's Bible Verse a Day apps that can give you a verse every day. Or write a few down on a notecard & refer back to them some during the day. & what you're learning on a notecard & refer back to that thruout the day A 'Bible Study an hour a week' would be insufficient for me. I slip too easy...

What are us Millennials up to?

I think it’d have been too overwhelming for me. But now I’ve gotten bored of everything. I think you have to really like the ways of the world too to have kids & I do not like the things the world does

What are us Millennials up to?

It seems like the millennials that got married are raising families. The ones who didn't we're just working & taking it easy. Like Troph, I read a lot. But I like reading about real things

    Zwingli denominations

I don't think any of those theologians 'founded' their belief systems. I think there were existing people that believed those belief systems & rallied around them. I don't think they needed those theologians to spell it out for them. These theologians weren't speaking into a void. Maybe that's...

    Experiencing heaven on earth?

It is impossible for man to create heaven on earth, in some part due to what you say OP: "we will always create problems for ourselves." Sometimes I say that ("we will always create problems") & people tell me I'm being pessimistic. Whenever your hear someone say "this will solve your...

"Sowing the seed" and prosperity gospel

A seed is sown when someone hear's the Gospel that man is eternally pardoned from God's wrath due to his sin, & adopted into God's family thru Jesus's work. A Parable is some people hear the Gospel & are happy at first but don't care for it over time, some hear it & never care for it, & some...

    What's on your mind?

I definitely wasn't ready for marriage. I'm not even sure I like that saying "ready for marriage". It's not some achievement. I am wrestling w/ this still. "You wrestle w/ the sinner's heart"

    Is the Horror genre Satanic?

I think it's ignorant to pretend the world is all sunshine & rainbows. I think the horror genre is a reminder no, (to point to your thread about the devil), the devil is still here. Also, in horror movies there's still themes like good triumphing over evil. I don't quite understand how it...

    Thoughts about the TCG Yu-Gi-Oh!?

I agree sometimes you hear people say stuff like 'oh it's just a video game' or 'oh it's just a card game.' I think that's really not understanding how deep some of this stuff goes spiritually. Like, there's a reason it's the Winged Dragon of Rah & not Yahweh. Ultimately I believe what it does...

Can a young child become a Christian?

It's strange b/c I knew I was one when I was young, but nowadays I see young children claiming to be Christians, & it's like, 'you're way too young to truly know.' Some people fall away when they get older. I suspect many times they were just following the crowd when they were a child. Is that...

Spurgeon and his defense of his love of cigars

This is the first I heard he quit but I haven't read much on his life. I think it's bizarre he was a heavy smoker. Even in those days a lot of people knew smoking isn't right. I don't know his biography about it, but I'm guessing it was just something he tried once & it became a 'habit' he...

Making an idol out of your future wife

Nah, you weren’t ready then. You’ve confessed that to that. When you were doing those things, that had to be weeded out. That would’ve still been with you had you got married then. I think it’s being weeded out even now for you. When you are married next year, you won’t say “I wish I had got...
