Teaching children to fear God

I was emailed this and thought it was excellent! It was very convicting. I think ll mothers should sign up for this weekly email. It is great!

Teaching Our Children to Fear God

The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom. (Pro. 1:7, Pro. 9:10, Psm. 111:10
Job 28:28, Ecc, 12:13, Deut. 10:12) I know that I want
my child to have wisdom not just when he is older, but
now even as a young child. Why is it that these days
children have no godly fear of their own mothers and
fathers let alone God? Are there consequences when
your child misbehaves? Are there punishments that you
enforce when your child disobeys? Hopefully the answer
is yes. Hopefully we know enough of God’s word to
understand that we have a responsibility as parents to
raise our children up in the ways of God. We have a
duty to train them to be Disciples of Christ. (Pro.
22:6) It seems that we have forgotten that this
includes fearing our God. I have seen mothers scoff at
the idea of telling their children that God hates sin.
He hates it when we lie, when we cheat, when we don’t
honor our mother and father. Some moms think I’m nuts
when I tell children that God sees all, hears all, and
knows all. They think it is absurd to tell their
children they need to tell God they are sorry, when
they make mistakes and sin. Do we not ask of them to
say sorry to their friends, teachers, brothers and
sisters etcetera? They should say sorry to Christ
first and foremost, after all, He died not just for
our sins but the sins of our children too. (Rev 3:19)
And yes, your children sin!

Yes, teaching children God’s love is so important.
God’s love is the most amazing aspect of our walk of
faith. But discipline is a huge part of God’s love.
And God’s love consists of reproof and correction,
helping to complete us. (2nd Tim. 3:16) It is never
too soon to start teaching our children the ways of
God. When we teach only of God’s love we end up with
rebellious lukewarm children thinking that they’re
covered by God’s grace and love. So abortion is okay-
God loves me, Fornication is okay- cause, you know,
God loves me. Well do not be deceived God is not
mocked for whatever a man sows that he will also reap.
(Gal. 6:7) And that goes for all of our children too.
And God says it’s NOT okay and He will spew you out of
His mouth! (Rev. 3:16) And Jesus will turn from you
saying He never knew you. (Matt. 7:23) Do you want
Jesus to know your children? Why are we casting our
children into hell?? You know if you go to these
places where teens hang out and ask them about Jesus
they say “yea I know Jesus” but they are living for
world. They love the things of this world! God’s word
say that we are not to love the world or the things of
this world for if we love the world the love of the
Father is not in us. (1st John 2:15) Jesus has become
common to these kids, He’s become CLICHÉ. God is
saying that it’s time to raise priests, prophets, and
kings! Our children need to fear God, they need to
understand the consequences for sin! Start now when
they are as young as three! Prevention is easier at
three than damage control at fifteen. If we continue
to tell ourselves they are just too young soon it will
be just too late.

Deuteronomy 6:2 That you may fear the Lord your God,
to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I
command you, you and YOUR SON and YOUR GRANDSON…

Thank You for your time. If this has inspired you or
helped you in any way and you want to receive more
emails from RaisingProphets just email
RaisingProphets@yahoo.com. Or if you have any thoughts
or comments that you would like to share please do so.
Also, we want to continue to inspire mothers to raise
priests, prophets, and kings for Jesus and if you
think this would be helpful to any other mothers
please forward to any and all of them. And they are
more than welcome to weekly emails as well. There is a
great need for wives and mothers to recognize their
role in their homes. God has designed us to serve a
special and specific purpose. Our children are crying
out for help, they are desperate for our attention,
our instruction, our discipline and our love. Just as
God molds us, we also mold our children. It’s time to
focus on what’s important- getting our lives in order
with Jesus so we can bring order into our home and
with our children!
