Pet stories that make you smile

I have an outdoors-indoors cat named Penny. She's getting old and probably is senile, but she's still sweet.

I was looking in the shed outside, and it was dark in there. When I came around, you could see her eyes reflecting light from me opening the door. I called her; she wouldn't come to me. Maybe it was too hot; I dunno. So I moved the lawn mower out of the way, she just continued to watch me. Then I reached out my hand to her. When my hand was about 1 foot away, she looked at it and said "Meow! Meow! Meow!" really loudly. Then she started purring really loudly as I petted her. I just thought she was soooo cuuuttte!!

Well, some people might not think that's much of a story, but it makes me happy. Anyone have any stories about pets that make you smile?

One summer's morning I saw my menagerie of pets sitting in a circle in the field. (Two Aussis-mix dogs and a mother cat with her five kittens, I say menagerie because I also had a brown tom turkey that followed me everywhere, a horse, many chickens, a pair of ducks and a pair of rabbits, Haus'n'Pheffer. But those belong in another story.) When I saw my pets in a circle I thought, 'how strange' and walked over to see what they were so entranced by. When I approached the circle I saw the strangest creature in the middle of the circle I had ever seen. It looked dead so I nudged it with my toe, just to be sure. But it struck out at me and I jumped back. When I did my entire circle of pets jumped back too. (If you can picture two large dogs, a mama cat and five kittens in a circle and all jumping backward at the same time without breaking the circle:)) Then we all stood very still and just stared at it. My neighbors dog, a small heeler, loved me and came over to greet me. I saw her out of the corner of my eye and wondered what she would do. But I hardly had time to wonder before she caught sight of what we were all staring at. Before any of this circle knew what had happened, Meg burst into the center, grabbed the creature and returned home with her prize. Guess what I and my circle of pets did? It happened so fast that we were left staring at empty ground for quite some time it seemed. I wish there had been a camera rolling. What a sight we must have been!
Our Blessed Savior is so wonderful to give gifts of joy, fun and comfort wrapped in fur, feathers and scales. He is Awesome!

I've had cats my whole life. Before I moved in with my fiancee, I had 3 cats at my dad's house: Sylvester, Hootch, and Pepper. Anyone who has a cat knows that they like to be in up-high places. A cat will lay on a folded up blanket on a bed rather than lying on the bed itself. And Hootch just loved to lay at the end of my bed on a folded up blanket. So, he was sittin there with me watchin TV or something. I started to talk to him and he stretched for a little bit then went to roll over and...rolled right off the bed! :o I don't think he did it on purpose! It was the funniest thing I have seen. Or so I thought...

The baby I have now I've had since she was 3 weeks old. My fiancee's cousin found her and gave her to us. She's my little baby; she loves to be around me. She sleeps on the bed with me. She used to sleep on the top of my pillow, but now she's moved to the bottom edge of the bed. One morning, I was waking up and I noticed she was there. I started talking to her and she did the exact same thing that Hootch did - stretched out and then rolled right off the bed! I couldn't believe that they did the same thing! I knew she didn't do it on purpose cuz she let out a little noise when she rolled off. Awww! she's sooo cute! ;)

this may not exactly make someone smle, but i thought it was funny.....

when i was little my older brother allways had cats, and his female cat had some kittens at one time, and i decided that one of the kittens needed a bath, so i got a little bit of water on it, then it needed to be dried off, so i put it in the microwave! lol!

My son has a crayfish he brought home from school. It seems to feel right at home with the goldfish in our aquarium. The other day I noticed it climbing on the waterwheel house. It climbed onto the wheel and starting spinning around and around. I was laughing, as the little guy hung on to the wheel. Finally he managed to get down off the wheel. The funnier part is....he keeps doing it!! He actually seems to enjoy the ride :)

I have a story about a cat that my mother in law had. Her name was Tasha. She was the ruler of all animals out at the farm. She would go and "beat up" all the ohter animals to let them know she was boss and the funny thing is they all let her be. Also whenever she was to go into labor she would get so freaked out that every contraction she had she would take off running and then one kitten would fall out and then she would stop adn look at it the an ohter one would hit adn she would take off running again. She did this every time. When my mother in lkaw told me this I just started to laugh becasue I would have like to see it.
