The seven deadly sins of Donald Trump
All politics evidences original sin in varying degrees. But what we see with the president and his cast of sycophants and co-conspirators — some of them beginning to flee the sinking ship on advice of counsel — is a rare thing: All seven deadly sins on display at once.www.ncronline.org

For starters
So you blow it all off?You are soooo indoctrinated looking at those accusers names who themselves are steeped in sin.
I love that abortion was abolished from the national level, free speech, freedom of religion, meritocracy instated, measures to abolish transitioning youngsters who will by such means be sterilized… for starts
Nothing to blow off… I live by Christ as my head not some man.So you blow it all off?
You come across defending Trump no matter what. He obviously must be held in high regard by you.Nothing to blow off… I live by Christ as my head not some man.
I’m done with this thread… we all said our piece and more and all is going downhill.
I do evangelism in New Zealand, and I use Trump to help start conversations. Trump has been a major asset to me.Again, you're on the wrong track. This is not about being unable to tell the Gospel story. This is about the growing unwillingness of people to listen to it. Jesus Himself spoke of locations where the Good News would not be accepted. Out President has greatly increased the many who will refuse to hear it. Name any other person with ties to evangelism who has discouraged people from hearing the gospel more than him.
In the West.I don't believe the cause of the current condition in Christendom is Trump's. Or even politics.
I believe the responibility for our current state IS Christendom.
The " body " is sick.
And the primary disease is PRIDE.
We can't hear each other. We speak our own languages.
Often. Thanks for this post. It is an intriguing and clever way to start the conversation to witness. To take the disgust with Trump and lead to universal sinfulness which then clarifies the need for salvation. That's brilliant. I would encourage other disciples to use it. Still, the evidence clearly shows a broad increase in the reluctance of the general population to have an interest in Christianity. A reluctance arising from many factors, but Trump being a major element of it. And not so much because of how 'bad' Trump is, but more because of the perception that evangelicals support Trump. The perception that it's OK to support him while acknowledging his evil, because God is using him to aid Christianity. It's that perception which dissuades many.I do evangelism in New Zealand, and I use Trump to help start conversations. Trump has been a major asset to me.
I ask people if they think Trump is a good person or not, some go on a tangent like you and rant saying he is not good, and others will say he is good. I then ask people if they think that they, themselves are a good person. This then leads to me using the law and showing them that they are not good and then I can share the Gospel. (NOTE: Trump is not good. Jesus said that there are none that are good)
But thanks to Trump, I have been able to tell hundreds the Gospel.
Now, can I ask you, how often you go out and share the Gospel?
Though you and I strongly disagree, I can appreciate your choice to leave this thread. Thanks for the posts you provided. I wish you well.Nothing to blow off… I live by Christ as my head not some man.

Maybe because Christendom is situated in a much larger sick global context. The message and mission of Christ have been around for over 2,000 years now and a lot of good has come from it. Many people have experienced the transforming power of God while swimming against the global tide. It is no surprise, really, that the facade of the Gospel and name of Christ have been exploited in many ways and by many people. Some even thinking they are doing God's will.I don't believe the cause of the current condition in Christendom is Trump's. Or even politics.

Some were seeking to exploit it even in the 1st century as noted by Luke and Paul.Maybe because Christendom is situated in a much larger sick global context. I have shared one way how I share the Gospel. You have said that you do it often. Can you tell us how?Often. Thanks for this post. Well, here’s the brief history. From Jr High to graduation I carried a Bible to every class. Which generated many opportunities to witness. Then in college there was a club I was in where we went door to door witnessing. Then in Seminary opportunities were more limited, but my summer field work left many opportunities to bring the gospel to people who dearly needed hope and comfort. Then there were my years as pastor. Then there were my years as hospital chaplain. These also, obviously, provided opportunities to offer hope and strength to people suffering, frightened, lost. Then the years I was in secular work, there were many small rural churches who needed a pastor for Sunday morning worship and leading church meetings. So, there again, arose opportunities. Now, in retirement, most of my life revolves around caring for my very ill wife. Still, God gives opportunities. I volunteer in the NICU to comfort premature and very ill infants who would otherwise die without someone with time to keep them calm, preserving their strength for recovery. And, finally, I go early to our church’s free lunch so I have time to hob nob with all the street people to encourage them and hear their prayer requests. Which gives me opportunities during the Grace before the meal to include their requests and to seek God’s Spirit to change the hearts of those in power who continue to sustain the universal prejudice against the poor. So, I realize my witness would not qualify as ‘sharing the Gospel message’ as defined by some. However, I am a Progressive. As such I believe the Gospel is better proclaimed by doing it than saying it.I have shared one way how I share the Gospel. You have said that you do it often. Can you tell us how?
That takes a lot of courage. I have friends that have done this and they said that for them, it was not very successful. Many doors slammed in their face. But I am glad that they tried. By all means, save the lost. Then in college there was a club I was in where we went door to door witnessing.
There are different times in life. Now may be that time to concentrate on your wife that you have spent so many years with. Now, in retirement, most of my life revolves around caring for my very ill wife.
What do you mean by progressive? What makes you different? However, I am a Progressive.
Our good deeds are a witness, but they are not the gospel, nor are they "the power of God to salvation" (Romans 1:16). Without the gospel being spoken, a person will never know that God loved the world so much that He sent His Son to die in our place for our sins (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4).As such I believe the Gospel is better proclaimed by doing it than saying it.
Yes. This is where we differ. By that I mean no disrespect. I know exactly what you have experienced and what it means to you. So please understand I’m not telling you that you are wrong or that you should change. I’m just explaining who I am. The GospeFor me, as I read the Bible, I ask myself, ‘What does God really want? Did God send His only Son so that we could be forgiven for our sin and be close to Him? Or did God send His only Son to turn us in the right direction. The direction of compassion, justice and mercy. I read it the second way. I am as sure of that as you are of yours. And I will not be changed any more than you will. And I will see you in heaven and we can compare notes. (Or sing God’s praises together. Though I’m a terrible singer.)What do you mean by progressive? What makes you different?
NOTE: The Gospel stays the same throughout time. So, it is not progressive. It does not evolve from a spoken message into our actions. But our actions are important.
