  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, once Trump starts polling the members of Mar A Largo to fire or not fire a cabinet member, start boxing your things up.
She should have been fired a long time ago for destroying the DOJ as Trump literally had the department on a tax paid retainer.
One can only guess what a bootlicker has to do to get fired by Trump.

President Trump has fired AG Bondi over frustrations with her inability to enact his agenda and her mishandling of the Epstein Files investigation. She will be replaced by deputy AG Todd Blanche until a new appointment is made.

It is a shame. She was one of the few I had any hope of being competent when the Trump administration first announced the cabinet positions.

Really? She's been a political hack for ages. She was elected (not appointed) as AG in Florida where she, among other things, hosted The Five while in office and declined to pursue a lawsuit against Trump University after he donated money to her compaign.

Was she Florida’s AG whilst DeSantis was tilting at Disney!?

Yes, but she was an AG with actual experience in the job. That is more then a lot of Trump picks. To be clear, I hoped she would be competent, not unbiased and fair.

:clap:She couldn't get the job done - nearly all Donald's enemies are still not imprisoned or bankrupt. :partlysunny: Sure, she gave it the ole college try but the stupid judges and juries refused to bend the knee just because the evidence failed to support the charges no matter how many times she tried. :beercheers: Poor Bondi! :hearteyecat:

If she was competent and unbiased she would have never been chosen. Back in Florida when Trump U was under investigation for the fraud they enacted, Pam Bondi dropped the investigation after a 25k contribution by Trump. She was also the AG who chose to do nothing when Epstein basically walked from pedo charges.

As events unfold her inability to find or make up charges to jail Trump's plainly stated enemies list, is why she was shown the door.
Does Trump think Todd Blanche, who literally said the other day they fired everyone from the FBI who worked on any of Jack Smith's indictment, were fired because of that specific reason is going to fare any better?

Correction: Bondi was able to find and make up charges, but she couldn't get them to stick or get taken seriously by the courts. So many career prosecutors quit or were forced out because they would not even try ridiculous, unsupported cases.

Will she face disbarment as so many other Trump attorneys have?

NYT: Trump Says He Plans to Nominate Blanche for Attorney General

Todd Blanche has been serving as the acting attorney general. A formal nomination to the post would be the president’s latest move to place loyalists in top government jobs.

Dan Scavino, one of Mr. Trump’s closest advisers, posted a video of the president announcing the plan on Wednesday night at a closed event in the White House Rose Garden.

“Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is going to go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent attorney general,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Blanche in the video.

Key committee vote for Todd Blanche postponed in major blow to his nomination as Trump’s attorney general

Senate GOP leaders were forced to postpone a vote to advance Todd Blanche's nomination to be President Donald Trump's attorney general late Wednesday, with a key GOP senator refusing to yield in a weeks-long battle with the administration over its controversial $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" fund.

The delay of that critical Judiciary Committee vote throws the nomination into serious jeopardy, with just days left before the Senate is set to break for its lengthy August recess. If the White House can't reach a deal with the holdout senator – Sen. John Cornyn of Texas – a vote could stall indefinitely or be pushed back until the fall at the earliest.

It's still not yet clear how far Cornyn – along with GOP Sen. Thom Tillis, who has raised similar concerns – are willing to go to dig in against Blanche and Trump.

[I believe Tillis is retiring and Cornyn was primaried out.]

"Senators Cornyn and Tillis want written assurances from the Department of Justice regarding the Trump-IRS settlement. Tomorrow's markup is postponed as work continues to secure sufficient support in committee to favorably report Attorney General-nominee Todd Blanche, who is highly qualified for the job," the spokesperson said.

A vote postponed means that Blanche will continue as Acting Attorney General. He had been a decent attorney at one time, I've been told, but his current antics should get him disbarred.
