I wanted to open a discussion about two highly controversial political figures and how their actions and leadership have affected public trust, governance, and political culture. Both have strong supporters and equally strong critics, but it’s worth examining the criticisms of each side in a balanced way.
Both are dreadful, but which of these two idiots do you find worse?
Boris's issues
COVID-19 lockdown policies: The UK’s lockdown approach was overly strict or poorly balanced, with long-term impacts on education, the economy, and mental health. Others dispute this, saying restrictions were necessary given the circumstances.
Partygate scandal: Reports and investigations found that gatherings and parties hosted by Boris took place during COVID lockdown rules. This led to fines and significant political fallout.
Brexit campaign and messaging: His campaign claims were misleading or oversimplified, contributing to long-term political division.
Political conduct and personal controversies: Johnson has faced scrutiny over ethics, transparency, and aspects of his personal life, which some argue affected public confidence in leadership.
Trump meanwhile got his supporters to riot after losing the election. Made endless false lies about the election being stolen. Got rid of criminal convictions of all the thugs who took part in his riots. Is a sex offender, akes away freedom of speech, and has broken many kther laws.
It's tough, but I'll go with Boris as the worst.
