Police name suspect after car driven into Berlin Pride event, killing one and injuring 16

Police are searching for a man named Abdul B. and say several people were reportedly stabbed in the incident.

I am no fan of gay pride marches but this was murder. To rebuke the sins of pride and lust an Islamist serving a false understanding of God kills people in a free society.

How should we regard such things as this? It reminded me of the massacre in Paris when Islamists attacked a concert where the band was playing Satanist music. On the one hand the Islamists are right there is something deeply wrong with our society and the things we choose to celebrate and on the other murder based on lies cannot be the answer.

What puzzles me is the radical Muslim/radical left coalition in the United States. At some level the gays must realize the radical Islamists are just using them and wish to see them dead.

In Europe as in the USA the pattern on the left/LGTBQ community is more complicated than that. On the one hand they defend a marginalized sub group against discrimination and empathise with them. On the other there is a thing called homonationalism which is opposed to Muslim immigration per see. Personally I know a number of Muslim immigrants who are upstanding members of the community and just as welcome in Germany as I am as an immigrant here also. But radical Islamic groups are really being truer to their core texts and also they bring a more violent historical culture into the European mix.

Some suggest that Muslims are exactly the wake up call the continent needs to wake it out of its moral apathy and religious indifference. Others will defend Europe's comfort zone against all comers while not recognizing the power of the ethical rebuke that radical Muslims make against aspects of European society. Personally I find Muslims slightly less odious than atheists and far more real than most agnostics. At least they are in the only conversation worth having.

Tell me you know nothing about the Bataclan attack other than the headliners name without saying you know nothing about it other than the headliners name.

Are you talking about the Eagles of Death Metal? That’s not a satanic band lol. That’s just their name. Really good rock band actually. The singer Jesse Hughes is a devout Christian. Great example of judging a book by its cover.

Go a little deeper and you will find he is even a socially liberal "pastor" of the Universal Life Church - (The ULC has ordained ministers from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs, including atheists, Christians, Jews, Neopagans and Wiccans) - so I will call BS on that claim.

Basically those two were in thrall to a religion: revolutionary state communism. It was a godless religion for sure. But any ideology elevated to where it becomes all consuming is essentially a religion.
