CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You do realize that "Republican" here doesn't mean "GOP", right?
They would do it the same way we've always done it -- by following the law (including the constitution) and having new elections to replace those officials when their terms expire. (No kings, no potentates, no supreme leader -- elections.)
I'm beginning to think you also don't know what "socialist" and "communist" are either.

The problem isn't the concept or goal in a general sense. The problem is the methods being used by Trump and his administration, and the toadyism of the rest of the GOP in allowing any and all overreaches.

Sure, as soon as you can explain to me how any of the policy positions given by Ms. Valdez violate the Constitution in any way whatsoever.
Though, to be fair, while Valdez has no problem admitting to being a democratic socialist, she has never, so far as I've heard, ever claimed to be a communist.

The constitution which includes the Bill of Rights amendments is not the cornerstone of socialism or communism. The Declaration of Independence which includes these words , “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. “ is anathema to what is being packaged and sold to the American public by socialist and communist candidates.
You would be wrong. I think that many that promote these failed systems are the ones that don’t know what they are. Many have been duped into believing a fairytale about false equality and free stuff without realizing the loss of personal freedom.
