CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Federal prosecution just means a Trump pardon.

There is real mismanagement of government, and issues to be addressed, overreach will be a problem to all of us. Attempting assassination of anyone is never the right approach in any case. Hence marches for protesting are a fair approach, while courts might be used for rectifying misuse of government as long as cases may be effective.

That is the issue, many favorable to Trump are already appointed to positions in courts and other offices in government, it is not all lost still. There are those who will stand up to them all.
Sotomayor Tears Into Supreme Court Over "King" Powers Given to Trump
Justice Sonia Sotomayor delivered a blistering dissent Monday after the Supreme Court's conservative majority handed Trump the power to fire the heads of independent federal agencies at will, a move she warned hands him authority "unknown even to the English Crown."
The 6-3 ruling wiped out a 91-year-old precedent that protected agency leaders overseeing Wall Street, workplace safety, and the airwaves from political firing squads.
Sotomayor wasn't having it.
Joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, she wrote that the majority had elevated Trump above the other branches of government, turning a duty to enforce the law into "a license to act in defiance of those very laws."
She didn't stop there. Sotomayor accused her colleagues of ignoring two centuries of legal wisdom, writing that the majority believes it knows better than Hamilton, Holmes, Brandeis, and Frankfurter combined.
Her closing line is already everywhere: "The one thing that does appear to be clear going forward is that chaos will follow."
In the same term, the Court handed down a separate ruling preserving the Federal Reserve's independence, for now, a sign the fight over presidential power is far from settled.
Sotomayor's dissent is being read as one of the sharpest rebukes of the Trump era, a reminder that even with the Court stacked against her, she's not backing down from saying exactly what's happening.
