  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

anyone know anything about Gematria?

Alef (אלף) is the first letter of the Hebrew Alefbet. Its gematria is 1.

1. א Alef 1

The Hebrew words for G-d

el, אֵל
elohim, אֱלהִים

both begin with an Alef.

Likewise, essential words such as

I AM, אֶֽהְיֶ֖ה
Father, אַב
Truth, אֶמֶת
Love, אַהֲבָה.

The original pictogram for this letter is an image of an ox's head with two horns, representing the strength and power of the work performed by the animal

1782919615848.png

The letter Alef, which symbolizes leadership, strength, the head, or the first, can easily be associated with Jesus

Who is the image of the invisible G-d, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Col 1:15-18

The full form of Alef, eleph, means 1,000.

The letter appears a total of 6 times at the beginning of the text

In the beginning, G-d created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:1
בְּרֵ
אשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ

At the end of the Scripture, the number 1,000 appears 6 times in 6 verses

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of G-d, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of G-d and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, Rev 20:2-7

The beginning and the end of the entire Scripture are thus linked.

Why is the devil bound and cast into the lake of fire?

So that Jesus may take His rightful place in the hearts of all people.

The first occurrence of eleph (אלף) in Scripture relates to a story about redemption

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved. Gen 20:16
ולשרה אמר הנה נתתי
אלף כסף לאחיך הנה הוא לך כסות עינים לכל אשר אתך ואת כל ונכחת

in which Abimelech returns Abraham’s wife.

The verse contains 18 words.

18 is the gematria of life, Hebrew: chay

chay (Life)
חַי
8. ח Chet 8
10. י Yud 10
Σ 18

The two words related to redemption are

כסות and ונכחת

which suggest Sarah’s vindication from shame, or allude to Abimelech’s vindication.

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved. Gen 20:16
ולשרה אמר הנה נתתי אלף כסף לאחיך הנה הוא לך
כסות עינים לכל אשר אתך ואת כל ונכחת

כסות and the last and 18th word, ונכחת, have gematria values of 486 and 484, respectively

486 = 18*3*3*3
484 = 22*22

The Alefbet has 22 letters, and each of them ultimately points to Jesus.

484 is also the gematria for theou, the genitive form of the Greek word theos (meaning: of/from G-d, or G-d's).

theou (of/from G-d)
θεου
8. Θθϑ Theta 9
5. Εεϵ Epsilon 5
15. Οο Omicron 70
20. Υυ Upsilon 400
Σ 484

Sara is purified through G-d's intervention (genitive), and the 22 letters of the Alefbet (the written word) point directly to the Author of the Word.

As we have seen, the first mention of the word eleph in Scripture appears in a verse dealing with redemption.

Abimelech not only returns Sarah to her husband, but he also pays compensation, 1,000 pieces of silver, approximately 12 kg of silver. The reason: he wanted to demonstrate to everyone that he had not slept with Sarah (which would have dishonored her as a married woman). This also made it clear to everyone in the future that Sarah was Abraham’s wife.

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: Gen 20:16a
הנה נתתי
אלף כסף לאחיך

Sara was married to Abraham. Believers are betrothed to Lord Jesus in marriage. Abraham was also Sara’s brother. Lord Jesus calls believers brothers; cf. Heb. 2:11; Lord Jesus is a friend of sinners; cf. Matt. 11:9.

The gematria of the above expression is 1260

Total = 1260
Original Text
Hebrew Value Inc
הנה 60
נתתי 860
אלף 111
כסף 160
לאחיך 69

60+860+111+160+69 = 1260
1260
= 3*5*7*12

The gematria for the middle word, 1000, is 111.

111 = 37*3

The entire verse, consisting of 18 words in Hebrew, which includes the first mention of the word “eleph” (1,000), the image of redemption, and the two references to the covering of guilt and forgiveness, has a gematria of 4773, a number that is itself divisible by 37.

And the number 37 can be associated with Lord Jesus as the living Word of G-d.

Ultimately, then, EVERYTHING revolves around Lord JESUS, from the beginning to the end of Scripture!

Many followers of Jesus are largely unaware of biblical gematria and how the names of G-d and Jesus Christ appear numerically within the Scriptures.

The Bible contains highly improbable mathematical patterns in almost every book and passage. Thanks to Strong’s Concordance, we have extremely accurate data on biblical text statistics. This allows us to use probability models to analyze how likely these numerical correlations actually are.

At its core, gematria is just a specialized branch of applied mathematics. All math is guided by the universal principles of set theory. We must first define and organize a specific gematria sample set before we can calculate its correct statistical probability. By combining probability theory and set theory, two well-established scientific fields, we can analyze biblical mathematics with a high degree of confidence.

The following aspect of biblical mathematics sheds light on the name Jesus and its correspondence to a remarkable number

1783859826868.png

The Hebrew words from which the name is derived are YHVH, (meaning G-d) and yasha, (meaning to save, help, or heal). The name thus signifies G-d is (my) salvation.

The Hebrew phrase for G-d and my salvation (אלהים וישועתי) uses standard gematria to total 888, highlighting the numeric significance of the name Jesus.

Elohim ve-yeshuati (G-d and my salvation)

Lord Jesus is, of course, both G-d and the salvation of humanity.

1. Αα Alpha 1
24. Ωω Omega 800
Σ 801 (right column)

The phrase Alpha and Omega connects deeply to the name of Jesus through Greek Isopsephy. When we combine the standard value of Alpha and Omega (801) with the ordinal value of the Greek name Iésous (87), the total equals 888, bridging biblical Greek.

Σ 87 (left column)

801+87 = 888

The Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, run through the entire Bible from beginning to end. They are more than just a title; they are a clue to the nature of the codes and ciphers hidden within the text. The majority of the sentences examined contain at least one Alpha-Omega code. When we cite letters such as Alpha and Omega, we see a clear reference to the letters of biblical gematria itself.

And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; Isa 11:2

The phrase Call upon the name of the Spirit of the LORD (קרא בשם הרוח יהוה) also equates to 888, linking the name Jesus with salvation, as seen in Romans 10:13

Σ 888 (right column)

Throughout Scripture, calling upon the name of the Lord is deeply associated with seeking G-d's presence, deliverance, and salvation. It signifies a cry to YHVH, invoking the covenant relationship and acknowledging His absolute supremacy. It is an appeal to Jesus as Lord.
The Apostle Paul writes:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Rom 10:13

According to the NT, no one can say Jesus is Lord except in the Holy Spirit. Thus, when you call upon the name of the Lord, you are entering into and drinking the Spirit.

Even the Spirit of the Lord is a perfect name for Christ, since Christ was the owner of this Spirit, who is the Holy Spirit of the Lord

And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh. Gen 32:31

This verse refers to the face of G-d, that is, to the identity of G-d, which was revealed in the incarnation of Christ. The Shekinah, that which dwells there (G-d’s manifested glory), and the Lord were regarded as the earthly presence of G-d, just as the incarnation of Christ was the presence of G-d on earth.

The word Shekinah does not appear in the Bible, but there are allusions to it; cf. Isa 60:2; Mt 17:5; Lk 2:9; Rom 9:4, as well as in the Targums.

Furthermore, the combined values of Elohim Panim El Panim (477) and Shekinah YHVH (411) together equal 888, reinforcing this numerical pattern

Elohim Panim El Panim (G-d Face to Face)
אלהים פנים אל פנים

5. ה He 5
10. י Yud 10
5. ה He 5
6. ו Vav 6
5. ה He 5
Σ 411 (right column)

477+411 = 888

Ultimately, we are not witnessing random anomalies, but a flawless mathematical design. The number 888 stands as an undeniable numerical seal: a cipher that unites the identity of Christ across languages, covenants, and millennia:

888 = Iésous (Greek Standard value for Jesus)
888 = Elohim ve-yeshuati (G-d and my salvation)
888 = Alpha and Omega (801) + Iésous (87) (Greek Standard and Ordinal values combined)
888 = Kera B'shem HaRuach YHVH (Call upon the name of the Spirit of the LORD)
888 = Elohim Panim El Panim (477) + Shekinah YHVH (411) (G-d Face to Face and Presence of the LORD)

Applying standard probability and set theory to these overlapping patterns reveals that the likelihood of this happening by pure chance is functionally impossible. It points directly to an underlying, deliberate design embedded within the biblical text.

When Jesus declared, I am the way, the truth, and the life, He wasn't just making a theological statement. Deep within the textual and visual architecture of the biblical languages lies a mathematical seal. By combining the ordinal alphabetic values of the NT Greek with the standard Gematria of the Hebrew text, a flawless crossover occurs.

The result?

The ancient signature associated with Jesus:

Let us first examine the exact words of Christ in the original Greek of the NT, using their ordinal value (the actual position of each letter in the Greek alphabet):

Now, we add the full Hebrew expression for The Name Jesus (HaShem Yehoshua) in its historically and theologically precise spelling, using the Standard Gematria value:

This divine symmetry can be proven a second time by mirroring the system: combining the Hebrew Standard values for Way, Truth, and Life with the Greek Ordinal value of the name Jesus Christ (Iesous Christos).

This number is not a modern mathematical coincidence. As noted in my previous research, the number 888 acts as a recurrent divine signature across the entire biblical canon. Read here how every 7th letter (ELSS) in Isaiah 9:6 and Isaiah 11:1–3, as well as the Hebrew Milui of HaMashiach (The Messiah), meticulously calculate to exactly 888. The early Church was fully aware of this cryptogram. In the ancient Sibylline Oracles (Book I, vv. 324–330), dating back to early Christian sources, the identity of the Son of G-d was explicitly prophesied through this exact numerical riddle (8+80+800 = 888):

For eight ones, and as many tens on these, And yet eight hundred will reveal the name

Does the flawless transition between Greek Ordinal and Hebrew Standard values strike you as purposeful architecture or mere chance?

The early Church fathers revered 888 as the number of the New Creation and Resurrection, structurally contrasting the flawed 666 in the Book of Revelation.

Let's discuss this further; I look forward to your insights and perspectives!

Did you know that the number 888 also appears in the very first verse of the Hebrew Bible when visualizing the mathematical-geometric pattern underlying Genesis 1:1?

Triangular numbers belong to a specific family of figurate numbers that form perfect equilateral triangles: the exact geometric figure traditionally depicting the Trinity. Crucially, every third triangular number possesses a distinct center (centroid) counter.

The total Standard Gematria of Genesis 1:1 is 2701, which factors perfectly into 37*73. Both 37 and 73 are prime numbers and, remarkably, form geometric triangles. But what happens when we look at their exact centroids (geometric centers)?

The Centroid of Triangle 37: Calculated from the triangle's apex (the top), the exact center is located at the 313th dot.

1784712600518.png

The Centroid of Triangle 73: Calculated from the triangle's apex, the exact center is located at the 1201st dot.

1784712632913.png

The isopsephy of Jesus (Ἰησοῦs = 888) flawlessly bridges these two geometric centers:
1201 (Centroid 73) − 313 (Centroid 37) = 888

888
is the precise geometric distance between the two centroids!

1784712661238.png

The symmetry goes even deeper when we look at how the centroid of Triangle 37 is measured. While it sits at the 313th dot counted from the top, it rests at exactly the 391st dot when counted upward from the base

(37+36+35+34+33+32+31+30+29+28+27+26+12+1 = 391

Yehoshua, the Hebrew name of Jesus, has a Standard Gematria value of exactly 391

Yehoshua

5. ה He 5
6. ו Vav 6
21. שׂ שׁ Shin/Sin 300
16. ע Ayin 70
Σ 391

Furthermore, this cross-linguistic math seals itself through number theory: The 313th composite number is also exactly 391.

What are your thoughts on this profound geometric intersection between the first verse of Genesis and the name of Christ?
