How long do you think it's going to take for the Right to grasp that? The big flashy mechanized conventional warfare they understand had a big win in WW2, and as it was starting to lose its luster, got another boost in Gulf 1. Is one successful conflict every half-century enough to maintain the fantasy? What I think is not as well understood in the White House is that you can seldom prevail in an ideological war through conventional means, especially when the adversary can fight asymmetrically.
