No, Jesse Waters really is the story here. Go through the segment and you'll find that roughly half of the air time is his commentary - he's the constant throughout this video, not anybody else. This is a bit that he's doing and you're swallowing it as if it were truth.

No, nobody has "replaced" him with anybody else. These are all candidates who've decided for themselves to run. But as to who is likely to replace him:
The debate that featured the artist and the songwriter was staged in two parts. The first half had all the regular candidates with political experience:

Why didn't Jesse Waters mention anybody from the first half of the debate?
You would be hard pressed to find a group of Republican candidates in one race to compare with this lineup in Maine.
No, I don't think I would be. Most every race has at least a handful of nobodies filing papers to run, the vast majority of whom don't collect enough signatures to get on the ballot. Back when I first moved to Baltimore and paid more attention to local politics (it was much more entertaining then), I went to a couple of town halls with mayoral candidates and the slate looked exactly like this - a couple of legitimate front-runners, another several people who were decent professionals but not viable candidates, and then another handful of wackos who couldn't pass an interview to be a shift manager at McDonald's. You just don't hear about the bottom tier candidates because most of them don't get on camera before they drop out and even fewer get picked up by national media like Jess Waters.

You can click on each state and then drill down to their primaries and see what the original slate looked like. In just randomly poking around at a couple, Oklahoma struck me as having somewhat more candidates than average:

Within those two, I see a paramedic, real estate broker, country singer, an accountant,
a dietitian, an office manager, and a handful of people with no bio even mentioned.
And apparently, that's not even the entire list for 2026.
