  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sounds good, he excels, though, at making sure there is very little middle ground, so it might be a fool’s errand to attempt such?
Being within in a sphere that's diametrically opposed to seeing anything positive, is going to make it near impossible to see anything other than negative.

He done good when he let Chairman Powell’s term come to a natural (statutory) end, (instead of trying to force him out by trying to fire governors to get the “vote” to go the Chief-Executive’s way, or by launching an investigation into supposed wrongdoings by the Fed head)…yeah he done good.

It was literally like watching the Seinfeld episode of Frank Constanza's "Festivus for the rest of us" airing of insane grievances.
Or when Father Ted goes on a rant about those who wronged him at the King of the Sheep contest.

These are large files with tons of facts and information that require a LOT of time to read and study. I will post the facts when I have time to do so.

When did lying become okay?

The BIG LIE that Trump told in the days leading up to the attack on our national Legislature in 2021 continues to be told...and repeated.

"Turn on your television. Open your phone. Watch the President of the United States look straight into a camera and say things, over and over, he and his team know are false."

A brief summary of President Trump's prime time speech tonight.
Sadly, this won't make a liberal excited because it doesn't include Russia. They should. If they don't want outside interference, then we can stop complaining about every election (I bet we hear complaints about the midterms from both sides.. This infuriates me because the same goes for other hackings. With today's technology, they can't secure the voting machine network.

""Sadly, this won't make a liberal excited because it doesn't include Russia."'

The irony of that statement when the country not included in Trump's speech was Russia. Even though it's prominent in the docs they provided. Specially since the Trump campaign did and was willing to work with meddling election Russians, and are now taking Putin's voter meddling advice.

What do you mean it doesn't include anything about Russia?

What voting machine network would that be? As a former government IT worker please explain to me what security vulnerabilities you are worried about and why?

This is counterintuitive if one's concern is election network security.

Trump Has Systematically Dismantled Election Security Efforts. Here’s How.

""Mr. Trump made no acknowledgment of those cuts in his speech on Thursday. “We will be working closely to mitigate any harm and taking swift action to ensure that sensitive voter data is better protected,” he said, “so it can never be bought or hacked and we can never watch it get stolen again.”
That agency, which was created during his first term, had been a lead federal partner for states on election security efforts since the 2016 election, sharing cybersecurity best practices and intelligence about foreign intentions around elections.
But later in his first term, Mr. Trump developed disdain for the agency, and the government’s election security work generally. Its director at the time, Christopher Krebs, validated the integrity of the 2020 election, which prompted the president to fire Mr. Krebs.
Since Mr. Trump’s return to the White House, CISA has lost around a third of its work force, which stood at 3,400 in January 2025. In February last year, the administration put more than a dozen CISA election security workers on leave as part of an investigation into its election work, a move that had a chilling effect on the 100 or so people in the division. The agency has not had a Senate-confirmed leader during Mr. Trump’s second presidency.""

I figured you'd inform me, but I don't see too much Chinese bashing here for stolen information, so I assumed y'all were Chinese sympathizers. Do you all care about stolen information, or does that depend on who is in charge?

Rich nation, advanced technology, and we still can't keep netwoks secure. Going on for too many years, I expect my government to protect secrets and my identity. Looking back on history, we've failed in this area.

Informative! I read about cyber intrusions and assumed that they were on voting machines, but after your question, I looked, and the software could be a vulnerability for the machine. It's the voter registration database that's being hacked. Needs to be fixed now! Maybe Microsoft is working with the Chinese and friends. All of this with identity theft in mind.

This strikes me as a rather dishonest discussion tactic. Make up a lie about something on the assumption that someone will correct you if it's actually wrong.

I don't follow your logic here.
Do you all care about stolen information, or does that depend on who is in charge?
Have you stopped beating your wife?

First, you must establish that this actually happened. At this point, I'm going to assume that any unsupported claims you make are invented, per your track record discussed above.

OK. That is definitely a valid concern, depending on which DB you are talking about. Are you saying the national DB is unsecured? I know the local one we used was not accessible over the network. You had to RDP into a special box to access and work with it.

Hmmm, I'm telling you how I see it. In general, liberals are quiet on China and loud on Russia. right? Has anyone on the left in this thread complained about foreign actors hacking state voters' info, or is calling Trump a liar more fun?

But I think you misunderstand when I said you were the one; I meant in my hillbilly mind, as you're one of the smart ones. My original post to Vambram was a general comment (rant toward liberals) and wasn't talking about the article specifically. If I was referencing the article, I would have quoted from it. But knowing there are foreign actors stealing citizens' info disturbs me, and it would be utopia for me if both parties placed importance on it.
