It's interesting that some people believe that Jesus died for our sins and that they only have to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. Paul says in (Roman 10:13) But what about all the other things Jesus and the apostles preach about concerning salvation. Some people don't believe that they need to get baptize in the name of Jesus, even though Jesus says, "And he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." (Mark 16:15-16).
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him." (Luke 7:29-30).
Rejecting God's counsel will get you eternal life in the burning flames (lake of fire) with the scribes and Pharisees. "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, Ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5: 20).
The Lake of Fire is not a fictional place. Some people believe that the Lake of Fire is located somewhere beneath the surface of the earth. Some also believe that if you happen to be placed in the Lake of Fire you will not burn forever. There are several things we must find out about the Lake of Fire. The first thing we must find out is why you will be placed in the Lake of Fire? Where it will be located? When will it be in existence? How can you burn forever and not be consumed? The scripture will answer all these question, as long as you don't lean on you own understanding and let the Bible speak for itself.
Pay close attention to what the God of Israel (Jesus) is saying here in Matthew. You will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven if you teach men that the law is no more. If you are the least in the kingdom you will be in the Lake of Fire. It's very clear that law is still in effect, last time I checked the heavens and the earth still exist.
Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus came to fulfill, to fill to the full (Gk. plereo). He fulfilled many prophecies - but not all. There are many in the Book of Revelation still to be fulfilled. There is still some in the Old Testament that hasn’t been fulfilled. Jesus at His first coming came to fulfilled that which was written for Him to fulfill at His first coming. He has NOT fulfilled everything that was written for Him to do. And He kept all of the Law that he could - but that was not all! He was not a Temple priest. He was not a woman. He could not keep the laws intended only for priests and women. No matter how you think about Jesus, there is still much to be fulfilled! So not even the smallest part has yet passed from God's Law! Except the priesthood laws and animal Sacrificial laws
Jesus made it quite clear that anyone who would break even the least commandment and teach people to do so would be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. That least is the lake of fire.
