The Word of God spoken in the Spirit of Truth is what we are to hear today and believe in. Christ speaks to us from Heaven and we are to hear His voice and be found doing well towards the Truth. True hearing is believing.
Of His own will He begets us with the Word of Truth (in contrast to the “word of men” that we have all heard being preached in the man-based churches). Those who are born of God will not sin...speak evil against what they will hear.
Evil people will be quick to speak evil out in their wrath against what they will hear in defense of their church denominational teachings....man's doctrines of the commandments of men.
Jas 1:18-21 KJV
(18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
(19) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
(20) For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
We are to be found laying apart all filthiness and superabundance of wickedness that will want to come out of our mouths when we hear His Word of Truth. It will not conform to what we have been hearing our denominations preaching to us. It will make some very angry when they hear it.
We are to instead receive with meekness the implanted Word. The wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God. Many will become full of wrath at the hearing of His Word but we are to lay aside all those things that we will want to speak out against it. The souls of some shall be full of wrath when they hear the Word of Truth rather than receive it with joy.
(21) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Of His own will He begets us with the Word of Truth. Whoever is born of God does not sin for His seed (the seed is the Word of God spoken in truth) remains in him. The good and honest heart will not speak evil against what he hears when he hears the Word of God spoken in truth. They will retain the Word….the Seed. The Seed shall remain in him...retaining the true Word of God as interpreted by Christ.
He that will commit sin ...speak and do evil....when he hears the Word of Truth is of the devil.
1Jn 3:7-10 KJV
(7) Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
(8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
The children of the devil will not be found doing the righteousness of God when they will hear the Seed…the Word of God. They will instead be found behaving with evil towards what they will hear in their unbelief. They will hate their brothers who are sent by Him to speak His Word of Truth to their hearing ears.
(10) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
The Truth does not stay in them if they do not keep His commandments. What is sown in their hearts…the implanted Word of Truth…does not remain as the devil comes along and removes it out of their hearts lest they should believe and be saved.
But whosoever KEEPS His Word, in him is the love of God completed. They will respond to the hearing of the Word of Truth with love. They will let brotherly love continue when one comes to preach the Word of Truth to their hearing ears. They will cross over from death to life because they love the brothers who are sent by Him to preach His true words to them.
1Jn 2:3-6 KJV
(3) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
(4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
(5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
(6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
The “good ground” which is an honest and good heart will heard the Word (the Seed is the Word of God) and will KEEP it. "HAVING HEARD THE WORD" they KEEP IT. They will hear and believe and keep what they hear and bring forth with patience. They will with meekness receive the Word of God….the implanted Seed.
Luk 8:15 KJV
(15) But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
But the unbelievers will not keep the Word as the devil comes and takes the Word of out of their hearts lest they should believe and be saved. They HEAR it but do not retain it. The Truth is not in them as it gets removed from their hearts so that they cannot understand and be saved.
Luk 8:11-12 KJV
(11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
(12) Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
They will not hear (believe in) the Truth which is from God. They will do the works of their "father" the devil as the children of the devil will not do His righteousness towards the hearing of the Word of Truth. They will not retain it. The Truth shall not be found in them.
Abraham did let brotherly love continue and was hospitable towards the 3 angels/men who came to speak the Truth to him. He did entertain strangers...entertaining the angels of God. See Genesis 18 .
The wicked shall not do as Abraham did. They will be found not entertaining strangers and their words....not realizing that they are angels/messengers of God's Word of Truth.
Joh 8:40-47 KJV
(40) But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
(41) Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
(42) Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
They will not understand the Word because they will not do the righteousness of God but will instead do the works of their “father”…the devil.
(43) Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
(44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
They will not believe in the Truth when they will hear it.
(45) And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
(46) Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
He that is of God hears the true words of God. Those who are born of God will not sin…speak evil. Those who are not of God will not hear and will do the works of the devil as they speak evil and make false accusations against One who will speak the Word of Truth to their hearing ears.
(47) He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Again, he that knows God will hear the Spirit of Truth. He that does not hear is not of God and will not show love towards the brothers who will come preaching that Word of Truth to them.
1Jn 4:4-8 KJV
(4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
(5) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
(6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
(7) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
(8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
