  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's your général impression, please ?

Please, have you not the sensation some persons behaviors look a bit worse than the lazy servant's that buried his mine ?
I mean : Wouldn't they seem to you often busy burying the mines of the servant to whom the master gave 5, just because they feel uneasy with the fact he produces 5 mines while some other servants produce less ?
For you, please, like for those persons, do you think it's wrong to procuce 5 mines if you have received 5 mines, while the one that received 2 produces 2 ?
For me, if my analysis is correct, i find this mind focuses way too much on material stuffs, and that it would rather be genuine and spiritual (or existential) help to try and make those who were given little accepting they were first given less.
Furthermore, i'd say material-centered minds promote conflictual relations, while spiritual-centered ones (this kind of spirituality i just spoke about), peaceful ones.
Do you agree, or rather not with this analysis, please ?

A talent is not just money, it is gifting in the church. Ai's take "Whether a commentator defines the talent as your literal time, your money, your skills, or the Gospel message, the core takeaway remains the same: A talent is a highly valuable asset belonging entirely to God, loaned to humans based on their specific abilities, for which they will eventually be held strictly accountable.

I am sometimes guilty of chasing money at the expense of my Christian talent. One reason it may not represent money is where is the guy that lost talents in this parable? Many lose money and go broke but yet no example here.

The parable of The Talents isn’t about burying money. The servant is judged not for doing something evil but for doing nothing with what was entrusted to him. We are called to be good stewards. He wasted the Masters trust. He wasted the Masters intent. He wasted the Masters resources. He did nothing with the talents God gave him.

Talents are more than just money. It is your literal talents - your gifts. Maybe you can teach, maybe you can provide a service, maybe you can give more, be a Leader, Evangelize, maybe you just need to pray for someone. Whatever it is, your gifts should be used to advance the Kingdom. Not kept to yourself.
