Who actually declared war on Iran? It certainly was not the United States Congress on behalf of the American people. Thus, it is not a legal war by the United States of America against Iran. There is only one individual who made that declaration of war - the President of the United States, Donald Trump. In doing so, he openly violated the Constitution of the United States, which he had solemnly sworn to defend and uphold.
There has not been a declared war since World War II. Originally framers of the Constitution were going to give the authority to "make" war to Congress, but instead Congress was only given the power to "declare" war.
That is quite true. Why is it, then, that Mr. Trump declared war on Iran and has consistently referred to it as a war and not by some other euphemism?
Ploy? The president is the commander-in-chief and has the power to militarily engage other countries, whether it is called a war or conflict or whatever is not relevant. Congress has the power to declare war and the power of the purse.
Better for Americans to do what's best for Americans without the slight of hand.
