Sometimes we need to put ourselves in the shoes of the parents. Losing your wife due to strict and unclear laws led to her death.
It is characteristic of the repressive, X-nat state that is Texas. Even their "for medical necessity" claims are clearly empty.

I'm saying certain people weighing in on this being a matter of consequence, which it is, are completely pushing aside over a million babies being killed last year. Why are they showing concern for the former and total disregard for the latter?

Well, we can point to the bad things that result from it, like the OP, or the increase in abortions.
Babies being killed in clinics in the US has increased substantially since 2022. What should we as Americans say about that? That's horrific? Who cares? It doesn't matter?
The "sanctity" of life is for everyone not just the unborn. If there is little regaurd for those who walk the earth now then the defense of those who are not here yet rings hollow and lacks true moral authority.More than three million living children die each year from the devastating impacts of famine and war.
or.....it was just an honest mistake in interpretation. It could be that too.
Goes to show that overturning Roe.Wade was a mistake. One consequence that arose was the loss of counseling. Texas's draconian abortion ban has effectively killed the physical space for neutral pregnancy counseling. Instead of visiting a local clinic to weigh options like parenting or adoption, women seeking abortions now bypass Texas entirely via out-of-state telehealth networks. The physical, face-to-face consultation room where a woman could quietly evaluate all choices has been completely wiped out by this shift in care causing an extraordinary increase in abortions.
The state should stop interfering with medical procedures.
A bad Texas legal environment that is dangerous.

So the number of maternal deaths went up since Dobbs, but the number of abortions also went up even more? Seems like Dobbs has hurt women and their families without doing much to benefit the feti.
