Perhaps Coming to a Church Near You
I had a dream last night – a nightmare, actually – that Pope Leo XIV announced on the Internet and all public media outlets a new name for the Catholic Church. No longer would it be known as the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ. It would now be known as the one, fraternal, universal, synodal church of humanity, open to all races, cultures, and creeds. No longer would the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost be invoked, but a new god of various demeanors and persuasions, who did not judge but welcomed all. Sin was now a medieval relic of the distant past.
In my dream, I cried out in anguish as I stared at the screen, “God, where are You in all this? Do You not see what this man is doing to Your Son’s Church? Where are we, Your flock, to turn to? Why have You abandoned us, Lord?”
