  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's peroxide-activated, benzyl alcohol paint and primer remover designed for removal of durable polyurethane and epoxy paint systems. That's not what the workers were putting in the pool to fight algae.
Ok so when do we get the video evidence of people pouring hundreds, possibly thousands of gallons of paint stripper to sabotage the reflecting pool?

Because so far all we have are unsubstantiated claims from an administration that more likely just botched a pool cleaning job.

It seems unlikely that any explanation other than botched pool clanging job would be accepted by people like yourself. You'll likely stick to it no matter what.

Eventually they will get to the bottom of why the paint is coming up and off. You won't get that reality from Truth Social. In Trump manner you will just get blame on someone else. It didn't adhere for one reason or another, and like any paint job that usually has to do with the prep. The idea it's people with knifes cutting paint up and off is just Trump narcissistic blame someone else insanity.

It seems unlikely we’ll be getting any actual evidence of this supposed sabotage excuse.

No way this rushed job that was initially quoted at 3 million dollars then magically ballooned up to 15 million dollars awarded to a company run by a friend and donor to the president was anything less than perfect until those evil liberals decided to ruin it with their thousands of gallons of industrial paint remover that no one saw happen.

I'm addressing the claim that plain peroxide is a polyurethane stripper. But I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest. Use me as a pillow to scream into anytime.

Once again, I'm addressing the claim that plain peroxide is a polyurethane stripper.

You should be addressing the unsubstantiated claim that bad actors worked to sabotage the president’s pool job.

They obviously weren’t using peroxide bottles from CVS to treat the algae. It was probably something much stronger. We don’t have any evidence of anything else being poured in. I don’t think we need Dick Tracy to figure this one out.

From the NYT article linked above: In a later post, he said, also without evidence, that vandals had “poured corrosive and destructive chemicals into the Pool.”

We'll believe it when we see it. The place is under webcam coverage and thousands of tourists are there all the time. We'll see if these gremlins are real or not.

You post 3:

More acts of vandalism from you know who. Most likely more acts against America and its monuments and Independence Day festivities will take place. Perhaps even to the level of domestic terrorism.

I didn't see the term "bad actors" appearing in the OP news article.

One does does need a basic understanding of how things work though. Otherwise they make ham-handed speculations out of ignorance.

Oh please, "we" would just claim it's fake AI footage.

How childish.

How about evidence for:

the "many additional people" that were arrested for vandalizing the pool?

or the suspects who "poured corrosive and destructive chemicals" into the basin?

So now we will convict people with no evidence at all, because evidence might be fake? Get real.

If you allege a crime, you need evidence. That’s how that works.

Diluted hydrogen peroxide does not strip moisture-cured polyurethane.

How dilute?

The photos show the pool guys poring jugs of it in right over the edge and photos of the algal pool show that the edge treatments are failing fairly close to the edge.
