Mat 20:27 And he that will be first among you shall be your servant. 20:28 Even as the Son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a redemption for many.
That is why at Holy Mass, this is said:
"Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me."
It's the actual blood, spilled on the cross, not wine, or a cracker, or bread that atones for our sin. One time Jesus died for all, and then rose again. This forgiveness is not given in doses, to be earned by eating bread and drinking wine. When we're in Christ, we have atonement for sin, and are complete in Him and lacking nothing. If you really believe the Bible, that's what Jesus teaches. The bread and wine are symbols to remember Christ's past sacrifice, rather than literal tools for ongoing forgiveness.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Hebrews 9:28: "So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him."
Hebrews 10:10: "And by that will we (believers) have been sanctified (past tense) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
Hebrews 10:14: "For by a single offering he has perfected (Justified-past tense) for all time those who are being sanctified."
1 Peter 3:18: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God..."
This is not the OT sacrifice by mere men, sinners who offer up sacrifices for every sin, every time they approach God. This is the NT, Jesus offered Himself, one time, and that was enough for all.
Hebrews 7: 26-27 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
God does not break this Seal, this promise. This seal of the Holy Spirit received, as believers, guarantees that we have Christ, and thus His atonement forever and it cannot be taken aways. Absolutely nothing in creation can separate a believer from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Not even if that person never partakes in communion.
Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
