  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Real hatred towards certain people is not wrong (proof from the Bible)

Yes, the sin of being an enemy of God. If you don't know what an enemy is, you can use google and a dictionary to figure it out by yourself.
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! -- Romans 5

I know what an enemy is but I’m trying to understand which sins make someone an enemy of God. Surely you should know since you are making the claim.

It doesn't matter because according to Psalm 139 God has clearly called us to hate people. I'm not saying it means all enemies of course but in Psalm 139 he tells how he has perfect hatred towards certain people. What's so interesting about this thread is that people appear to be more interested in virtue signalling and stirring up strife rather than offering a better interpretation of what perfect hatred means in their mind.

You keep citing Psalm 139:21-22 in an incorrect context. David is not calling people to hate others but to hate anything that is ungodly. That doesn’t mean that we hate any particular sinner. In fact, you should continue to read verses 23 and 24 and pray those words for God to search your heart and your thoughts for any hurtful ways in you.

“¶Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Consider following Paul’s words in the following verses.

“Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Hatred towards people is not taught in scripture.

My heart knows the prefect Love that I find in Jesus. But perfect hate? That's something that I don't see in Jesus. Not even close. What I do see in Him is Infinite Divine Compassion. Now that would be worth exploring and bringing into our hearts. Not hate.

How about explaining what perfect hatred means in your mind and how having perfect hatred for someone cause you to conduct yourself towards them?
