School officials in Washington state are being sued amid allegations that a trans-identified male wrestler sexually assaulted a female wrestler during a match.

A complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington on Wednesday alleges that the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Puyallup School District and two of its high school principals violated the constitutional rights of a 15-year-old girl by enacting a policy allowing trans-identified males to compete in girls' sports and failing to report the sexual assault of the plaintiff at the hands of a trans-identified male.

The incident took place on Dec. 6, 2025, when 15-year-old Kallie Keelerwas competing in a wrestling match. Unbeknownst to her, she would end up competing against a trans-identified male. She did not know her opponent was a trans-identified male during the match, with the lawsuit insisting that "she would not have taken the mat" had she known.

Also, why are there no female athletes transitioning to male in order to compete with the men?

Why can't we have a category for trans athletes to compete against each other? Probably because no one would watch.

It’s clear but I think it makes no sense. Anything that is a sin has moral aspects to it that are worth discussing. It’s like saying you cannot discuss the morality of adultery, lying, fornication, stealing. Etc. I asked my priest about it and was told any active sin is a moral issue.

No, that would not have prevented this.

For one thing, grabs or other SA-like contact like this happen accidentally in grappling sports all the time. It’s very easy to be trying to achieve one thing and wind up grabbing something else incidentally.

Second, “oil checks” are sort of a running joke in some circles and happen on purpose between opponents of the same birth sex.

Third, there are a bunch of legit moves that would constitute SA in other contexts. I’m less familiar with wrestling, but in BJJ, one of the reasons groin cups are disallowed is that they make it too easy to break an opponent’s arm: when doing an armbar, your crotch is often the fulcrum. Mounted triangles have you more-or-less sitting on someone’s face. A north-south pin can, too. Mother’s milk is sort of a funny one where you smother somebody with your sweaty man-boobs.
