• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Workplace and businesses putting pride flags everywhere

Yes, because your personal views are probably aligned with the organization.
Certainly not on all things, And definitely some things make me angry. But I find refraining from being rude to people quite easy.

Hypothetical situation:
What if you work at the NRA and hate guns? That might be a problem if others find out. It would probably be better to keep your mouth shut about your personal views. Maybe start looking for a new job.

Why are you working at the NRA if you hate guns?

Because I used to like guns, but recently I changed my mind.
Your hypothetical makes no sense as an analogy.

At work today I noticed the entire office has been covered in pride flags and banners everywhere over the walls and ceilings, even outside the building. There's even an upcoming day where everyone has to wear something rainbow coloured into work for the day and everyone must do this according to managemnet

What would you do if your workplace does this?
Your damned if you do and your damned if you don't. Usually they should allow for those who don't want to participate. I know in England they had a ruling where the worker took their case to the workers union and arbitration and won.

Its a hard one as if you depend on the income and jobs are hard to come by then its your livelihood at stake. Christ says we will suffer for his names sake. I have been on the outer in work situations and I could not stay.

But it depends on the situation. There is no reason why a strong Christian cannot go along for just the one occassions. Perhaps this helps open doors. God works in mysterious ways. But I think a person if mature in the faith can trust in God and know the difference between bowing to a false ideology and allowing one time where there may be a greater good that can come of it.

Its hard and I think there is a line when it becomes a problem in promoting a certain ideology over God. Which is to a degree an individual thing depending on faith and Gods spirit.

I see that you began a thread on the identical topic on March 27. Why have you opened a second one?

Can someone tell me whether or not this violates the TOS for CF?

Isn’t this present world supposed to be “enemy territory” for Christians?
(ETA: I’d personally draw the line at “mandatory clothing”.)

No different than the non Christian would like to bow out of an office that gathers for a morning Christian prayer, you explain to your manager why you would prefer to bow out.
