  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They're not personal attacks and I resent you trying to frame them as such.

It's your posts that are being called out. For blazingly obvious reasons. The main reason for me, which frustrates me more than you'd believe, is that you are treating me like an idiot for even thinking that I would be dumb enough to accept what you are saying. Which is that you don't disagree with Trump on this inconsequential matter when you have literally posted that you do. I'm not assuming what your position might be. I am not insinuating that you might be wrong. I am literally quoting what you said!

Where I come from, if someone points out that you are obviously in disagreement with someone you normally support on some minor matter, then they would simply say 'Well, he's obviously entitled to his own opinion. But in this matter I happen to disagree with it'.

End. Of. Story.

Get another beer and then talk about the next game. Or the Knicks comeback. Or the weather. It's no big deal if you disagree with someone. The world isn't going to stop turning. But treat everyone like they're a bunch of morons and the discussion will remain on why on earth you are doing this.

Yeah, well I'm tired that anytime somebody doesn't agree with you, you bray and bleat and whine about being attacked and cry victim, so I guess we all have things we are tired of today.

For the record, commenting on your behavior is not a personal attack. If you don't like what you see in the mirror I'm holding up to you, only you can change that and it has zero to do with "being attacked."

Perhaps if you're as sensitive as you appear to be, these forums aren't for you.
