On Wednesday (June 10), President Donald Trump signed into law the Renewed Hope Act, giving child abuse investigators an additional $108.5 million to identify and protect young victims. The act, which passed the Senate on June 5 and the House on June 9, was a bipartisan effort championed by outspoken Christian Tim Tebow.
Through his Tim Tebow Foundation, the Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL quarterback advocates for some of the “world’s Most Vulnerable People,” including those with disabilities and victims of child abuse and trafficking. Earlier this year, Tebow testified before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, asking Congress to address the rising rates of child exploitation online.
Legislation to boost resources for identifying abuse victims was initially introduced in 2024. Most recently, it’s been spearheaded by Sen. Josh Hawley(R-Mo.), with support from both political parties.
