CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Quite right. The quotes are most definitely not irrelevant.
You have commented quite clearly on whether the Iranians should be allowed to play in the World Cup. Trump has stated his position which is the exact opposite of yours. And you have then said that you are both right.
You obviously are not both right. That is logically impossible. We are now in a position where you find yourself incapable of admitting that because, rather ridiculously, you don't want to admit that you and Trump disagree on any given matter. Even something as inconsequential as a game of football.
If there wasn't such monstrous underlying problems in this attitude it would be laughable.

If anyone's attitude is laughable, it is not mine. Clearly, it's is FIFA which has determined that the Iranian soccer team is eligible for the World Cup. No one can do anything about that. Therefore, I agree with my President's decision to ban them from staying overnight in the USA.

It's not bias. It's facts. We did lead an unprovoked attack on Iran. There are numerous segments of the world that view the American military terrorists, so if we're banning nations that are viewed as terroristic, we'd be in that group.
Or are we saying that this international event sponsored by an international organization which features teams from around the world should be conducted to appease delicate sensibilities of the right-wing people of America?
I'm not surprised somebody with your inclinations and biases would think so.

I will again point out that your inability to admit that you disagree with the president is an example of what is arguably the biggest problem facing the US at this time. Which is that there are not an insignificant number of people that will not publicly admit that the president can do or say something with which they disagree. They will tell you that he always right. Even, in this case, where you have actually said something directly contradicting him.

Omar Abdulkadar Artan is the best referee from Africa. He was going to make some historic firsts in this world cup. But the Trump administration denied him entry into the U.S.
And FIFA showed a lack of guts by simply saying OK instead of changing the referee assignments so he could officiate games in Canada and Mexico.
