  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns credited a specific Bible verse as a source of strength as he continues to mourn the loss of his late mother, whose presence he's felt as he competes in the National Basketball Association Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

In an interview on ESPN's "Volkswagen Postgame" following the second game of the NBA Finals on Friday, Towns was asked about his grief over his mother as he fights for a shot at the NBA Championship title.

“When you go through something like that, I feel like other than losing a child, there's nothing worse you could go through," he responded, referring to losing a parent.

"It builds you up, and it strengthens you beyond measure," Towns added.

He cited Philippians 4:13 as a source of strength following the death of his mother, noting that it proclaims, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
