• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

World Cup in the US?

You bet the Yanks will be supporting their team. As do we all.

And the first US game is in...? L.A. And their game against Australia is where..? Seattle. Like I said, tune in to watch the crowd reaction to the Commander In Chief.
We shall have to wait and see which game President Trump goes to for sure.

IMHO, no teams from terrorist regimes should be allowed to participate in the World Cup.
Didn't Trump want the people to rise up against the regime? Didn't he arrange for weapons to be supplied to the people to fight against the regime? Weren't thousands then killed by those in charge?

Didn't he say this?

'...to the great proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand'. Read President Trump’s statement on Iran in full

But maybe I'm mistaken. Because you surely wouldn't disagree with your leader: https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/48184550/us-president-trump-iran-skip-world-cup-safety

'Trump wrote on the social media site Truth Social: "The Iran National Soccer Team is welcome to The World Cup...'

That was in March. He went on to say that it might be better if they didn't participate, but that was because he was apparently concerned '...for their own life and safety'.

Good that he was so concerned. And good that you found that you could actually disagree with his position. Well done.

What a poor attitude to show the world.

These professional athletes have nothing to do with their government's actions and have every right to represent their home country which has qualified fair and square for the tournament.
I disagree.
In the dark days of the Apartheid regime South Africa was banned from participation on the Olympics.
The racial segregation was different kind of evil than the current islamic regime, but both are evil.

Do you suspect the players are terrorists too?
No, and I am on a sightly different track than Vambram.
Good sport results increase the prestige of dictatorial regimes. Hitler understood this already

Getting the Islamic regime positively in the spotlights will be expolited by the Islamic dictatorial government.

Since we attacked them, I guess that would leave us out too.

As has been pointed out, your administration holds a different view.

Yikes, that's 2 posts in one thread disagreeing with Trump.

Good to see. Keep it up people!

Wow. That is probably the most biased post I have seen in a long time, IMO.
How is it biased to point out it was the US that carried out a preemptive attack on Iran?
