  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you do this very often, asking to pray for someone who is subject of a thread?
I didn't ask anyone to pray for Derek Chauvin, I said to a fellow Christian that we as Christians should, based directly on something that Christian said regarding Derek Chauvin.
For I can't remember you did this in any other thread earlier, not for James Comey, not of Luigi Mangione, not for anyone else.
I and my fellow Christians should love and pray for James Comey, Luigi Mangione, and anyone else, as our Lord Jesus Christ did for others and told us to do likewise.

Your argument seems to be that if one says that Christians should pray for a certain person or asks us to pray for a certain person, they should include various other people.

I recently asked for prayer for Pastor Dan. So you might as well complain that I didn't ask for prayer for other pastors as well or a Rabbi, or the Pope, or a Buddhist monk etc.

You "should". Do I understand it correctly that you didn't until now?
Then again, why the choice of Derek Chauvin?

I added more to my previous post.

A fellow Christian said something about Derek Chauvin, which prompted me to say that we as Christians should pray for him.

That Christian saying something about Derek Chauvin is what prompted me to say something regarding Derek Chauvin, as opposed to James Comey, Luigi Mangione, Letitia James, John Bolton, Jerome Powell, none of which the Christian I replied to mentioned in the post I replied to.

How many more why him and not Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Pope Leo XVI, or Ilhan Omar explanations are you going to ask for?
