  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I do think Saturday is still the Sabbath, and don't find arguments for Sunday being a "Christian Sabbath" compelling. I think the bible implies that the Sabbath is a creation ordinance, and not jusr something implement on Mt. Sinai. Also, I never understood why the command to keep the Sabbath doesn't apply to modern Christians, but all of the other Commandments still apply.
Amen! Good points.
Sunday, however, is the Lord's Day, and I think celebrating the day the Lord rose from the dead is a pretty good reason to worship on Sunday.
Can you please provide a verse from the Bible that says Sunday is the Lords day? Considering God only named one day- the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD Exo20:10 the holy day of the LORD Isa58:13 The name Sunday actually came from Pagan roots, so its not something that came from Scripture.

Jesus rested on the Sabbath day in His tomb and went back to His Fathers work on the first day, and never told one person about changing God's commandments- He already spoke on this matter Psa89:34 Mat5:17-30 Mat15:3-14 Mark 7:7-13 Exo20:6 Rev14:12 Rev22:14

Just to let you know that since Apple Sky wrote the post to which you are replying over a year ago, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver and bone cancer - see her post here: The Seed I am sure she would value prayer at this time. She may well not see or answer your post in her current situation.
I have, thank you
