  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

President Donald Trump confirmed in a Wednesday interview that he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "crazy" during a tense, expletive-laden phone call on Monday about escalating tensions in Lebanon.

Asked during an interview with New York Post journalist Miranda Devine about the veracity of a report claiming he called Netanyahu "f—ing crazy" while taking credit for keeping him out of jail, Trump said, "I did. I wouldn't say 'angry.' I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon, you know. At some point, I said, 'Bibi, we've got to stop this. We gotta stop it.'"

According to Axios, Trump cursed at Netanyahu during the phone call while accusing him of being ungrateful and disproportionately escalating strikes in Lebanon. A U.S. official who spoke to the outlet claimed Trump was upset that Israel has killed so many civilians in their ongoing strikes against Hezbollah in the region, including destroying buildings to target one Hezbollah commander.

As long as Hezbollah exists, getting upset at Israel for attacking them and then framing the article like Israel is going after the literal country of Lebanon is insane. Hezbollah might have a grip in the Lebanese government, but they act completely independent of that government when it comes to military issues. So i dont conflate the two.

So to sum up, I think Trump is wrong. Israel should be able to exist without constantly getting missiles launched at them from various positions because of Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran.
