  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hush Money Probe Against Ex-WWE Boss Vince McMahon Dropped by Federal Prosecutors: Report

[They were investigating whether McMahon] paid female employees to keep quiet about sexual misconduct.

The decision to drop the probe came despite a judge ruling in 2024 that the government established “probable cause to believe” that McMahon had broken the law and “circumvented [the WWE’s] internal controls and created false books and records.”

Last January, a former employee filed a lawsuit against McMahon accusing him of trafficking her to other higher-ups and even wrestlers. The employee — identified as Janel Grant — claimed she signed an NDA in 2022 when McMahon promised to pay her $3 million. McMahon, she alleged, stopped making payments after just the first installment of $1 million.

Such a coincidence that the wife was tapped to run (what will have used to be called) the Department of Education!

Don't be silly. Linda McMahon would never help her husband. I saw her powerbomb him on the pay-per-view!

Boy oh boy!
The protection of the rich by this adminstration is getting pretty flagrant. And of course, the silence is expected.

I mean, USAID was investigating Musk's use of drones in Ukraine.

It must feel really validating to vote for Trump and see all of his wonderful billionaire friends escape investigation and prosecution.

Again, all those pretend allegations against Biden with flimsy truth countered with this.

And all we will hear is that the "justice system is against us...wah wah wah". And we have Musk suggesting that since the judicial branch is not directly voted in, they are going against the will of the people.

If Trump starts purging judges, will it still ACTUALLY be a Godwin when the inevitable comparisons come up?

They got separated in real-life, didn't they?

I know there were pictures floating around of him with a new "side chick" over the past year.

So I doubt she'd be helping him out of any sort of fondness for the person she got separated from.

Unless...she herself was involved in some wrongdoing and didn't want that coming by way of further investigations into WWE.

Vince is a very rich guy with or without his ex working for the government, this wouldn't be the first time he's beaten the federal government in court.

And it sounds like the decision to drop the probe may have been even before the election took place
...reported that prosecutors decided to drop the probe sometime between Sept. 18 and Jan. 10, when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced its settlements with McMahon resolving the cover-up claims.

Vince McMahon is a rich guy with heavy ties to the republican party and at least a passing aqcuaintance with Trump, who appeared on his wrestling show multiple times.

I don't think he'd need Linda McMahon to grease the wheels of justice.

I believe they're separated, but Trump and both the McMahons go way back.

WWE was absorbed by that mega brand that now own that, and UFC, and Vince was shown the door in response to the allegations.

According to public records, she own $67 million worth of shares in the parent company TKO (another investment group named "Endeavor" owns the controlling share of TKO)

TKO holdings is valued at near $30 billion. So she's by no means a "big fish" in that "pond" so to speak.

I was just more referring to a hypothetical situation where she may have helped her husband cover stuff up back in the 90's and 2000's, and was worried that deep diving into the past dealings of WWE would uncover unsavory things about her.

Vince McMahon sex trafficking case co-defendant John Laurinaitis agrees to help accuser

  • The co-defendant, John Laurinaitis, also reached a confidential settlement with McMahon’s accuser, Janel Grant, their representatives said.
“John Laurinaitis has agreed to cooperate and provide evidence in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE,” the reps said in the statement obtained by NBC News.

“His agreement to a confidential settlement is a pivotal next step toward holding McMahon and WWE accountable and bringing justice to Ms. Grant after years of sexual abuse and trafficking,” the reps said.

In January 2025, McMahon agreed to settle administrative charges filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission alleging he violated federal securities laws by failing to inform WWE’s board of directors that he had signed non-disclosure agreements with two women whom he promised to pay $10.5 million to keep quiet about his sexual conduct.

Vince McMahon and others are sanctioned for destroying evidence in WWE shareholder lawsuit

Judge J. Travis Laster, vice chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery, issued sanctions for “spoliation of evidence” in the shareholder lawsuit over the 2023 merger between Ultimate Fighting Championship and WWE.

The litigation is related to the 2022 investigation by WWE’s board that found that McMahon made at least $14.6 million in payments between 2006 and 2022 for “alleged misconduct.” McMahon has denied claims of misconduct.

Laster ruled on Tuesday that WWE executives destroyed evidence by using the auto-delete setting on the messaging app Signal, enabling potentially relevant communications to be deleted.

The ruling means the court will operate under the assumption that five potentially damaging statements are true while allowing the defendants to rebut them.

The statements, according to the ruling, include that McMahon’s decision on the merger was “influenced” by Endeavor Executive Chairman Ari Emanuel’s “promise” to provide him with a continued role at the company and to indemnify him and provide legal support as federal investigators were looking into claims of alleged sexual misconduct.
