CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank goodness that systemic medical neglect and abuse, and denials of adequate food and water or being sent to a foreign gulag only happens to illegal aliens and not undocumented immigrants. Otherwise we'd have to feel empathy about doing such things to other people, our fellow humans.
But we don't have to feel bad when their whole existence can be summed up as "illegal" and their humanity can be disregarded by referring to them as "alien". You don't have to feel empathy for what happens to an alien, they don't have any humanity after all.
How joyous people were when this administration got rid of the term undocumented in favor of the term alien.

Personally when I hear the word alien I always think of the xenomorph. You have to nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. (Or at least place them into an airlock to be sucked into outer space)
