  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As a community chaplain I've utilized various forms of Christian music to share the Gospel of Christ to various population groups.

I can confirm the effectiveness of this kind of ministry ... I'm guessing others here can, too!

The Lord used the contemporary ministry music of (the late) Carman to reach me.
I used to listen to his music on Christian radio, while driving to and from work.
I wasn't practicing any kind of faith at the time, but something in his music set fire to me!

Granted, Carman's style is probably abit too 'old fashioned' for most of today's youth ...
but back in the 1980's, God did use his songs to get 'the message' thru to me.

Carmen was Outstanding!

I began using Christian hip hop and rap with the "Hood" portions of the city I live in. It's nickname is "Little Detroit" that's in NW Ohio.
I began utilizing Christian hip hop and rap at the inner city chemical dependency treatment center I was working at the time.
