Jesus spoke of the evil eye is the passage about workers in the vineyard, working some nine hours, some one, gaining the same reward. Making the long hour workers jealous or evil eyed. They were hit hard to become the least in Heaven. Also Jesus gave the parable of the lost son, who returning home is welcomed by his Father, but disdained by his older brother. The older brother was not simply reputable but worked hard.
Sometimes persons want us stood down, demoted, or rejected, but Jesus gives grace as medicine to the sick. That is His Holy Spirit, new birth, anointing, gifting, living water as to a woman who had over time, five husbands. Some people hate sinners, but also in the church, and want them stood down if they repent and find a nice niche with God and the church, haters.
I once forgot my past sins and had the evil eye. But Jesus said, freely you have received, freely you should give. Jesus never sinned and gave the most, He is very generous. We should be grateful for His mercy on others. Praising Him. His economy is better than ours, our Scrooge like desire to be shown mercy and show hard justice to others instead.
What can be done about the evil eye, jealousy, comparisons, true identity and trying to persuade good instead of bad will?
Luke 15:11-32.
Matthew 9:12
John 4:1-28
Matthew 10:5-8
