  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It doesn't use those exact words, so I can't prove that the way you want me to. But, you also can't prove otherwise. You admitted that you don't know what 2 Peter 2:1 is saying when it says they denied the Lord who bought them. But, other scripture indicates that Jesus paid the price for the sins of all people in the whole world (John 3:16, 1 John 2:1-2, 1 Timothy 2:3-6), so my interpretation of 2 Peter 2:1 lines up with the rest of scripture.

Okay then. I showed you with exact words that Peter said they were redeemed by the blood of Christ from their vain conversation received from their fathers, which means false religion . 1 Pet 1:18-19

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Now b4 you start throwing scripture at others, study yourself, and dont demand others to do what you cant or wont do

The Greek word translated as "bought" in 2 Peter 2:1 is not the same as the Greek word translated as "redeemed" in 1 Peter 1:18, so I don't know why you think what is written in 1 Peter 1:18-19 proves that my understanding of 2 Peter 2:1 can't be true. The precious blood of Christ paid the price for the sins and bought all people in that sense and only those who accept the price He paid rather than denying it, like the false prophets and teachers in 2 Peter 2:1, are redeemed.

You talk about the exact words of Peter as if I'm supposedly not accepting them, even though I do. I have shown you many scriptures whose exact words back up my view and you deny them all. You deny that "the world" means everyone in the world in John 3:16. You deny that "the whole world" means everyone in the whole world in 1 John 2:2. You deny that all people means all people in 1 Timothy 2:3-6 and 1 Timothy 4:10 You deny that "all people everywhere" means all people everywhere in Acts 17:30. On and on it goes.

You still haven't proved 2 Pet 2:1 is about Christs blood redemption. Again Peter had already specifically stated about Christs blood redemption to them earlier here 1 Pet 1:18-19
