Alan Manning Chambers, former head of an organization that promoted conversion therapy for gay people, was arrested in a sting operation near Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday (May 19). Chambers, who disbanded and apologized for Exodus International in 2013, was charged with solicitation of a minor via computer, transmission of material harmful to minors, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Chambers, 54, had been communicating with and trying to meet up with someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy. That person turned out to be an undercover detective. “Today our detectives stopped a predator before he had the chance to harm a child,” the department posted.
