  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Netflix has announced a release date and star-studded cast for “Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,” the first installment in its new adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ beloved fantasy series, directed by Greta Gerwig.

The streaming platform announced last week that the film will open in IMAX and theaters worldwide on Feb. 12, 2027, with exclusive IMAX previews beginning Feb. 10, before arriving on Netflix on April 2, 2027.

Written and directed by Gerwig, the project marks the first-ever screen adaptation of Lewis’ 1955 novel The Magician’s Nephew, which serves as the origin story of Narnia and explores the creation of the fantastical world.

The cast includes newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell in leading roles, alongside Emma Mackey and Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, with Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep rounding out the ensemble.

This will probably come off to others as mean-spirited but I will not support or watch this adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia as long as they have Meryl Streep being the voice of Aslan. I'll stick to the original Disney Chronicles of Narnia which were great in my eyes.

I loved the Disney ones too. Douglas Gresham, one of C S Lewis's stepsons, was involved in the production of them I believe. I had hoped that this would be similar.

I really enjoyed those movies too. It's too bad that the Disney never finished the whole Narnia Series. Although, I can understand, somewhat, why they wouldn't have made one of the books into a movie. Can't remember the title of that particular book though but I think it dealt with a caliph-like figure and scenario.

I think you're referring to The Last Battle which is the final one in the series. It's quite serious for those who believe in Armageddon.
