  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I feel like work interferes with my life.

I'm not able to stare at a screen much as I used to; my poor eyes dry up and it takes time and care to get them back to normal. Some of my life tends to revolve around a computer.

Then when I'm working on content for my channel, some kind of disruption happens. I try hard to write accurately. Sometimes I struggle with the correct translations of the Bible verses to include in my work.

Yes. I become distracted easily by the fun stuff I can do with computers. Instead I need to study and be learning things using this same machine. I worry that I wont achieve certain important goals which need working on because of my laziness and distraction.

For example: I start my day off with music online because it makes me feel better emotionally. More importantly rather I should begin by reading from my Bible a little each morning. Would be of greater benefit to myself and those around me.

PS: it's past 4:00 in the morning here and I can barely compose this reply because haven't slept yet. So I am off to bed now goodbye.

There are lots of distractions on the web, the videos, the ads, the images, etc.
I can get distracted, especially if I forgot what I'm supposed to do. It helps if
I write down all I wanted to do first.

I also have a list of things that need to get done. A long list written on paper.

I'm wondering, do you have a lot of distractions getting in your way?

While distractions can be and often are a problem, more often than not in my life, it's the choices of other people which are getting in my way.

Sad but true; and there's nothing I can do. boo-hoo!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that.
Anyway, don't be discouraged.

Thanks, Tom. I'm sure I'll gain gainful employment again in the near future, assuming the world doesn't decide to up the ante on singling out Philosophers who won't shut up. (But one would think they'd be grateful that at least I'm not a bona-fide prophet.)

I think I can offer a helpful perspective on this--oh wait just a second--the phone's ringing and somebody's at the door. . .

.... I guess if you live in Missouri, you love company.

@bèlla, of course I was offering dry, rye humor when I said "I'm sure I'll gain gainful employment again......................" ;)

I hope things are going well for you, though.
